Juicy Mango Pale Ale | Ss Brewtech

It's been a while since we had a brew day on Ed's 3-vessel Ss Brewtech system. He's made a few changes lately which can be seen in another video but we were keen to see it working with the Einbrew controller, upgraded HERMS, sight glass and dry hop dropper. The beer we chose to brew is a juicy mango pale ale clocking in at 5.3% ABV and 30 IBU.

Pale Malt 8.34kg
Caramalt 430g
Flaked Oats 260g
Rice Hulls 270g
-Mash:
Strike water 25L at 73°C
60 minutes at 66°C
10 minute mash out at 75°C
Sparge 29L at 75°C
-Boil:
Pre-boil volume 49L
60 minutes
Azacca 16g @ 60 mins
Ekuanot 16g @ 60 mins
Azacca 20g @ Hop Stand/Whirlpool 20 mins
Cascade 10g @ Hop Stand/Whirlpool 20 mins
Ekuanot 10g @ Hop Stand/Whirlpool 20 mins
Cascade 130g @ Dry Hop (after active fermentation)

Wyeast 1056 American Ale - 420 billion cells
-Adjuncts:
4L mango juice (100ml per litre) - we used Folkington's 100% juice but you get more mango taste with Rubicon Mango Juice Drink (which contains sugars and sweeteners)

That pot has got some impressive inlet and outlets or outlets and inlets whichever way you’re looking at them. I love mango like I love my first born child and the colour on the beer looked absolutely lovely. Nice work again cheers 👍🍻

Noticed the addition of some beardy bloke in recent videos. Is he there to: A) increase the average head hair count? B) make the brothers look a bit more like type-A dudes C) he’s born into money and you need more loot to purchase more hi-cost/low-improvement gadgets D) he’s an old mate from infant school and you figure that a bit of public exposure may land him a girlfriend and the outside chance to finally see a grown woman naked E) he followed you home and now permanently resides in Ed’s brewing shed F) all of the above

@@BrewBrosUKooh, maybe I won one of your brewing kits! Seriously though, I cannot believe how low your subscription count is!!!!! (Obviously) excluding ‘Stig of the dump’, you guys provide some midlife crisis , beer fuelled, comedy relief from todays distractions. Maybe a major colab with a famous alchie would do the trick (I’ve heard that Ollie Reed’s appearance rate has dropped in recent years).

Aha! We've been waiting for someone to flatter us with the low subscription count comment so you are not only witty but a gentleman too. The homebrewing audience is niche as it is but we suspect the audience who like brewing content merged with beer swilling shenanigans (and not taking ourselves too seriously) is even more of an endangered species......particularly on these shores. Oliver Reed has to be on any man's 'Top 5 People to Invite to a Booze Up' list!
