Honestly he got that fanbase cause he was just such a relatable dude, there are random videos of him for example buying yu gi oh cards and just being lovable anytime you saw him. Mix that with being great at making songs, music or even freestyling and you kinda have a perfect artist. He also didn't usually didn't try to glorify the drugs and more so tried to bring up underlying problems with love, substance abuse, feeling lonely etc
