she was very humble and composed as she presented. Definitely there was no arrogance or bias even when speaking about President Trump who most journalists love to criticize. Certainly very well done.
Man, I am going to miss her. She has been like a comfort to me all those years. Every evening after work, PBS News Hour is the first thing I go to on KZread.
I have so much respect for Judy. Unlike many other journalists, she keeps her views to herself, and gives us the straight facts. I will really miss her daily reports.

I’ve always had such admiration and respect for Judy Woodruff. Tears came naturally to me as she made this announcement last Friday. It was reassuring to hear about her next chapter and I’m eagerly looking forward to it. Thank you, Ms. Woodruff, for the utmost integrity that has been a hallmark of your remarkable career. Best wishes in all you do.
I adore her. Such a truly special, poised icon. What a great role model. There is no one like her. So inspiring.
Good story. I learned so much about Judy that I didn't know. I will miss her M - F, but will look forward to her next chapter.
Woodruff has been one of my best go-to reporters since I began taking an interest in the news. That long career is an example of not letting prejudices or politics get in her way, and avoiding the hystrionics of the politically-skewed news that is found everywhere else.
My name is June Woodruff. I have been mistakenly called Judy Woodruff most of my life. I smile every time; it's an honor.

Judy is a Gem!
Judy is one of the few decent reporters as I am partial to hearing the news not being yelled at to me.
Much respect for this lady! The voice of calm and truth in facts.
A real power lady. And to see her interviewed by Jane is a double delight. Good luck in your new chapter, Judy!! ❤️👍
I was attracted to her deliverance of her message. Her soft voice spoke volumes to me! MUCH RESPECT!!
I remember first seeing Judy on television in Atlanta doing the news in the early 1980s, if I remember correctly, and I immediately thought, "What's she doing here? She's way too good for little old Atlanta. She needs to be elevated to some top spot. She's going places." It surprised me to think that so quickly and wondered why. I don't usually judge others so immediately and I didn't care much about newscasters. Turned out I was right. Judy Woodruff is a truly high-quality person and she emits that vibe without effort.
I will really miss Judy Woodruff anchoring PBS NewsHour. And I will look forward to her next works.
A poise unrivalled and an intelligence and compassion unsurpassed - very probably America´s finest journalist in these contemporary times. This is PBS NewsHour´s anchor, Judy Woodruff.

After testing many sources and many shows, I have concluded that PBS is the best source and their reporters and anchors are the absolute best in the business. Judy Woodruff is an example to us all. Public news sources in the major western countries are the best news sources. C-SPAN, NPR, BBC, Channel 4, ABC Australia, CBS Canada..... are the mainstream news sources that keep mainstream news respectable. Fantastic work. Thank you for your service.

We love you Judy. Thank you for being a great journalist and reporter with integrity not opinions. Trustworthy news is lacking these days.
I remember that Cokie Roberts gave an interview, shortly before she died, in which she said that women were becoming increasingly "sissified" in our society. It's interesting to me how adversity produces purpose and determination. The women of the generation of Judy Woodruff, Cokie Roberts, Lesley Stahl, and their contemporaries, set an example that is difficult to emulate, given the changing set of circumstances. People need to reflect on the challenges they face in their lives and, instead of feeling resentful, use those difficulties to push them forward.

She has all my respect … she more than earned it over and over again many times
I have enormous admiration for this reporter/anchor. The 'why' questions she is hoping to understand and explore are the most important ones that this country and its citizens need to get an understanding of. Years ago, Bill Clinton wanted to start a national conversation about what it means to be an American in such a diverse experiment that America has been and is more so today. Sadly, many in the country hyphenate their understand always focused on what's in front of the hyphen, that is, Irish-American, African-American, Conservative-American, Gay-American, etc. But we never come to a common understanding of 'American', so we don't see what we all have in common and focus on how we are different. Interestingly, when one travels to or lives in other countries, we soon find out that we are just labeled Americans even when we are traveling in a very diverse group of Americans. It's time for our people to explore what it means to be an American in 2022.

When Americans travel in Europe from country to country, do we ask the locals what it means to be a European? No. If we did, what kind of response would we get? England made their response clear (well, sort of) and they may very well regret it. There are benefits to being a member of the European Union that can't be had otherwise. Our states are like European countries with their citizens more attuned to their own culture than that of the rest of the country. Why wouldn't we, therefore, be of differing views? What if our states could withdraw their "membership" at any time like England? What if other countries could join the US like Ukraine has wanted to join the European Union since 1993? It's all in how you look at things.

I was not born in the States but I was born with dual citizenship, with an American passport. My family suffered greatly due to the incomprehensible terror attack 20 years ago, but a few years after I was attending a July 4th barbecue and it sunk in. I always think of the first few minutes of Aaron Sorkin's THE NEWSROOM and the rant that Will's character has on ... what makes America great, but the fact is, with her faults and courage the US has so much to be proud of. Be proud to be a citizen of these great United States!

DonDon - I had a similar experience when I moved from SF Bay area to Idaho, where people are so much more conservative in their thinking. Idaho is a much more homogenized society. I grew to miss the diversity of the Bay Area. People from all walks of life, many unique cultures and perspectives live here. For all our challenges, we have some of the best food, great music, intelligent and educated people in the world. Definitely a different perspective. Diversity is a strength. We need to learn better how to embrace it.

@@IntriguedLioness Well, there's no place much better, but it's presently very ill and at risk of dying so that's not so great. We do have the opportunity to heal if we make the effort. Then we might truly be great again, but not better that all the rest. This Trump era should make us humble and stop with the "greatest country on earth" mentality.

I'm going to miss this extraordinary lady on PBS
Despite how much the ideal is that news reporters are not supposed to be part of the story, I found this piece unusually enlightening. I appreciate learning something about a reporter/anchor's personal life. It helps add context. Learning about Judy's son says plenty about her ability to empathize. Learning about her experience with lecherous male bosses was also illuminating. That said, I find Judy to be one of the more fair-minded of journalists who shows all sides of issues.

“We are in an angry moment in this country” - Judy Woodruff
I,too, had the “you have great legs” remark from an employer in 1970! I knew it was sexist, I knew it was wrong but as an18 year old I was in no position nor was I inclined to become confrontational. I simply said, jokingly, “ You know, my father calls me legs!” He never said another word about me or my legs.
