@@NINJASAZUKI I think he may be referring to how the "karate" practitioner just stands there waiting to be thrown. Straight out of a movie fight where one actor is in front of the other and is waiting for the other to catch up.

I am a Grappler with Brazilian jiu-jitsu background however it is so unfair to consider this a fair example of what karate brings to the table. I have much respect for the "do damage" mentality of karate practitioners. they are not to be messed with

I think the Karate guy is not that good and this is a friendly combat. Outside In the street when it’s for real it’s different. My brother is a black belt and I am a boxer we had many interesting fights when we where Teenager I am only one year older lol and I believe anyone who has training in self defense it’s not to be messed with.

This is not even a real fight jeez! You cant expect a 70yr man to fight a 20yr dude😂 if you hear closely you can even hear them saying «the next technique…» Don’t take judo techniques lightly for that, if you get thrown like that full force to the ground and land on your back, you will NO DOUBT get winded
Judo is a very humble sport. No real judoka would call themselves "Master" or "Grand Master". The highest accolade a judoka can aspire to is "Sensei" or teacher. You will notice that the announcer referred to Mr. Bunasawa as Sensei. Also, while Jukkendo may use elements of Judo, it is not itself Judo.

My sister and I have played judo for over 45 years and hold nidan and sandan ranks respectively. Neither of us has ever heard a judo player refer to themselves as Master or Grand Master. To the best of my knowledge even Prof. Jigoro Kano never used such appellations. Maybe things have changed recently?

En el judo no existen los "grandes maestros", todos aspiramos a ser solamente sensei, tengo entendido que en aikido el creador, Morihei Ueshiba, se le denomina O-sensei (gran maestro) pero en judo no, además ese video es una demostración
Camera missed the takedown good job filming! 👏👌
I'm reminded of a karate match I read about in a book called a Martial Arts Catalog where it described a white belt karate fighter defeating all comers in the match. It turned out the fighter while a white belt was actually a black belt in judo and he simply followed along with the rules where the similar techniques found in both martial arts were applicable.
Their announcing how he's gonna submit him each time OF COURSE IT'S STAGED.
not bad. not real.

It's a demonstration. The same guy does demonstrations at the Continental Crown Judo Tournament. Those are all real techniques, but choreographed so that he can show them in a reasonable timeframe. I've seen most of those techniques used to great effect in real competition too. (Not all of them, since jukkendo allows things not allowed in judo)

I have heard people say that judo is no good in the real world like when attacked by a thug for instance. I am evidence that judo is a very efficient means of self defense. When I was younger, fitter, stronger, I held a black belt in judo. (I am aware that a black belt in one code means something else in another so for comparison, my training schedule: 6 years, the last 3 years I trained 3 - 4 nights per week with the Kenzo Judo club, Brisbane, Australia) In my late teens, early 20s I used to get into a lot of fights: I was an angry young man who drank. Need I say more? This is nearly 40 years ago so I don't even remember the names of most of the throws. My favorite was probably a white belt throw, very fundamental: my left hand on the opponent's sleeve, my right arm goes around his neck as I turn and pivot, as he goes over my hip I release my feet and hit the floor on top of him, already in a ground hold. Time and again this worked for me. What this proved to me is that you don't need a lot of throws and holds if the ones you know are so ingrained that they are muscle memory, without thought. It also proved that judo is a very effective fighting method. Today I am much older, wiser, and calmer. I think I would probably hurt myself if I had to fight. But I know, intuitively, that if I needed to I could defend myself.

Turbo Tim totally untrue, boxing sucks and that's that my reasoning? Boxers can't cut distance against a kicker and even if they can they can't do shit against a clinch which usually puts them in the ground and then they're fucked.. moral of the story learn Muay Thai

The best martial art is just to take multiple so doing something like taking a grappling based martial art like jiujutsu/judo/akikado and a full contact sport like kickboxing/boxing/mma would enable you to be able to avoid being locked down by grapples as much as you would taking a full contact sport and allow you to diversify because if you only did a grappling sport, you would go for the grapple so often that you become easier to read.
The Judo guy is mopping the floor with the karate guy.
To be fair the karate fighter was a green belt but judo and karate are to my opinion the most beautiful martial arts in the world judo students and karate students can learn a lot from each other
Judoka dresses (Qazaq national wrestling) Kazakh national wrestling clothes! 😎 Respect!
Great. Filmed with the ever popular 'shaky hand potato' method. Awesome.
Interesting how he sort of lures him into a punch, or onto the ground. Really shows what judo is good for. Making your opponent waste their energy and using that against them.
In junior high school I was criticized for not knowing karate saying that Judo was inferior to karate. Now I know this is incorrect Even though judo helped me tremendously in self-confidence and my ability to defend myself as well even with bigger and much stronger classmates... Thank you, Christopher

it is about the fighter. and this video is about a new bie vs an old GraNd MAsTEr man ,what the fuck it show you ? =))) the truth is both martial art are powerfull and speacial. I trained 6 years, only 1m73 63kg ,from VietNam. I defeated some muay thai, boxing, vovinam, kickbox bigger than me. I can push a small hole in the thin brick wall with a punch ( also have video on facebook but doenst matter ) Krt teachs us how to take down, grab, hold skills too,not only punch, kick, eldbow. And i know a judoka can hit some one with power of the earth too, so dont talk like that, just keep practing, keep the heat in your heart. oss

o gênio que estava filmando, deveria ter prestado mais atenção
1.1k people need to try judo
Fair amount for karate::2% Fair amount for Judo::98% Because::Starter vs Grand master Totes unfair
If these posters would just say from the get-go "demonstration" then they would have less "thumbs down". Why is it you always see Judo, Aikido, Kung Fu, types as demonstrations against Karate or Tae Kwon Do or MMA and winning in the demo, but never the other way around. You'll never see a MMA or Karate guy in a DEMO against a Shaolin Monk. You may see a real fight, but not a demo where the MMA guy wins against a shaolin monk.
Bunasawa do not underestimate the power of the force - Vader
This is not free sparring, it is choreographed.

Why the karateka is green belt and the judoka is white-red belt?
Neat dance
camera man had one job.
by seeing this video I understand that the judo is white and red belt and he is a master and karate is green belt so green belts are low training but judo master is white and red belt so he can defeat karate green belt trainers easily if karate is 6th degree black belt and judo white and black .100%sure karate wins

Honestly if we’re discussing the general outcome between a karate fighter and a judo one. I would say that it depends on the capability of the judo fighter because there are some that can read and perform grapples easily. A karate expert usually keeps to a stance and could be read which is why most people consider it a self defense sport rather than a combative one like the full contact sports(boxing, kickboxing, and mma). But it generally is about how good the judo fighter is at reading and how well the karate fighter responds.

That Karate guy couldn't grapple. That Judo guy knew some blocking and striking. Only one way this fight is going. I do feel there was some cooperative sparring going on here though.
