Why Polgar tesign? The only move of white is Rf8 and followed by black move Kg6; Rg8+, Rf7 and white in mat position in on move more

I I don't know notation but White's next move is Rf8. Black's next move is Kg6. After that, any variation of moves sees Black's Knight make it to f6 with a check and take White's rook. However, it wouldn't be the first time I'm wrong about something.

After that black reply move Kg6 and then white must move Rg8+ reply by black Kf7 and white in a condition mate position after his future move. 1 . If Rock move in g line black repy ktf6+ mat 2. If Kh7 also black move ktf6+ and the white rock piece will lost and white loose.

Não sou jogador de xadrez, só sei mexer as peças, mas também entendi que estava empate, que as peças como estão é empate certo. Não há vitória para Kasparov, mas empate. Realmente, inaceitável para uma jogadora do nível dela não ter percebido.
