I saw Judie Tzuke in Manchester in 1980. That was the best concert I've ever been to.

It was a fantastic gig, loved it. Fell madly in love with Judie after seeing her on her First Top of the Pops apperance, been in love with her ever since.

Saw her at Plymouth Poly in 1979 when I was 16. As I parked my Yamaha FS1E in the car park a big black Ford Granada pulled up and she got out right next to me! Thank goodness I still had my helmet on as I must have gone bright red. She was stunning! 😎

This is such a killer band and great songs with a unique style and Judie's totally original approach. Mike Paxman's solo on black furs is one of my favorite solos of all time. It is so perfect I literally start tearing up. Charlie Morgan's drumming also makes this performance really special.

Agree with the previous comments- a wonderful talent and those early albums are a joy and still sound great- not enough live stuff around- she needs a good box set of the early stuff

I went to her concert in 1981 in Croydon the day before my A levels. The day they finished, I drove up to Manchester and went to her gig there.

And Jeff Rich later was drummer in Jude's band alongside Rhino, and Mike Paxman the guitarist and main co songwriter here went on to produce a good deal of Status Quo output

@@keithbarry9734 Her (future at that point, I think) husband, no less. Yes, I can see that it's him performing the higher backing vocals, after watching again and paying attention. Talented chap who I believe was very involved in the studio production role, too. That was a great set. Wish there were more live sets to watch of Jude and her band, at their height. But this was all pre-digital recordings when film and VT were such relatively expensive commodities. I never got to see them perform live, much to my regret. Thanks for responding to my comment.

is this true or just urban myth, the bass player who went on to play with Status Quo, did he smash judie in the face breaking her nose whilst pissballing about spinning with his bass Guitar. i am sure i read it somewhere.

Not a myth, except it was Mike Paxman( lead gtr) he hit Judie in the face as she took a bow.

Yeah it certainly happened. Was just a week or so before I was due to see her in Oxford and thought the gig would be cancelled. Went ahead however and have seen her several times since. Absolutely love her and she’s still making fantastic music.

I was at that gig in The Brangwyn Hall, Swansea. 7th April 1982. Stopped the gig for a little while. What a wonderful singer and a very tight outfit, as in the band of course 😜
