    Was anybody else thinking that the girl who didn't want her sister to wear a bikini may have felt insecure because perhaps her husband has shown signs of being attracted to her sister? It's just a speculation but for her to specifically not want her sister to wear a bikini around her husband seems like it might allude to that idk. Either way the husband gives bad vibes

    I agree, and I bet it would have been better for the sisters' relationship if the married one had been more forthright. I'd be pissed if my sister was projecting her insecurities on me, but if she admitted her husband was attracted to me? I'd be covered head to toe, including face mask and sunglasses. All after yelling at her to leave him ofc.

    13:30 Here’s the thing: there’s nothing wrong with having your ceremony at 5:30am as long as you KNOW that ppl will not be there and are OKAY WITH THAT at the end of the day you only get married once (…typically) and they can always have a late reception 🤷🏾‍♀️

  • @entroverse_

    honestly in order to make a wedding official you just need an officiant. they should get married just the three of them at the time, so they have it on paper and in pictures, then they can have an actual ceremony and reception at like noon or something

  • @daffodils.and.daisies9750

    Problem is too that the bride will have to have her hair and makeup done (presumably by a team of people) and same for the bridesmaids, not to mention the guests. So she wants a 5:30am start but that means she herself will have to get up earlier than that to get ready and whoever is doing her hair or her makeup will also have to turn up earlier to do that too. So basically she wants a 5:30am start time but then it ends up being like a 2am start for everyone cause I don’t think they’ve factored in how long it takes to get ready and organise things. I think they should just do a pre-wedding photo shoot or some sort of nice moment at sunrise that they can remember for themselves and then have the wedding later.

The only people wo NEED to be at a wedding are the officiator and the people getting married. Even if she does somehow convince a whole wedding party and event organizers to show up stupid early, it would be unreasonable to expect people to be on top of everything and in a good mood at 5am. Also if the ceremony is super long you can’t be mad if your guests fall asleep during it 😂 Even as someone who isn’t a morning person I think it could be done well (having breakfast at the reception sounds pretty fun actually) but it would have to be small, intimate and somewhat casual.

He obviously did something really bad in the eyes of Esty and it seems like he doesn’t even feel bad about it since he believes it’s an overreaction from her. Tbh even if he did nothing wrong, you have every right to not want to have anything to do with your dad’s new family. Especially if you’re 33, married with kids. I will sit through the loud noise and crowds of people so I can be there for them on that day. My opinions: 1. NTA. Sister is being insecure and should just suck it up. 2. YTA. OP is lowkey being a stalker, and should not force her way into her half sister's life. OP probably is just super hyped she realised she is "no longer" an "only child", but she should calm down and back off. 3. YTA. Understandable that Dad does not like parties, but won't he at least stay at the side to be there for his son and DIL? His son will likely not get married again, that wedding was a one in a life time thing. Dad should've set his own needs aside for that day. 4. Hard to decide. Yes the students were already given a warning on what would happen if they cheated, and they still did it. But also they're 9-10 years old, ripping the test is quite dramatic. Why not just take it away? Or have a like a 3 or 5 point reduction? 5. YTA. It's inconvenient for the guests, expecting them to wake up at 2-3am (getting themselves ready, styling themselves, packing for the trip, AND travel time to the wedding). A tradition is special, but to the many guests coming, it is ridiculous.

    As a teacher myself the ripping of the exam made me embarrased lol. It's definitely an opportunity to teach these kids something about cheating, but just not the right way to go about it imo. Like they're 10, they're at an age where you can actually take them aside and have a reasonable conversation with them, like, the deduction of points and a clear explanation of why would be a good example yeah. Demonstratively ripping a test in two infront of the entire class just feels like outright ridicule, I feel like creating an open field of learning where there is learning without embarrasment is so important when teaching that age - or in general.

    i don't know about that. i'm someone who also deals with social anxiety so i completely understand being really uncomfortable in social situations. that being said, this was his son's wedding which is a pretty big deal. if being in the social scene is really that difficult for him he should have at least come up with solutions to help him cope better. things like fidget toys or breathing exercises or even being around someone that can calm his nerves. he even could have explained it to his son beforehand so accommodations could be arranged. it seemed pretty selfish to use social anxiety as an excuse, especially as a parent. there were a million different solutions where this could have been solved, but leaving abruptly without a good explanation isn't one of them.

    I think the mother who left at her son's wedding has bad anxiety. The way she downplays the size of her problem, when she said I really don't like gatherings instead of I don't do well in gathers. I've seen people do unlikely stuff due to anxiety; spend a whole day preparing only to break down hard and refuse to go, locking self in the bathroom after reaching, not leaving the house. People with anxiety often feel embarrassed, so I guess that's why she doesn't mention it. Anyway, I think extreme anxiety is hard to graspe, it doesn't make a lot of sense, but when you see it consistent, you realize that it's a problem.

    For the wedding one solution could be, have the wedding at a “normal” time and then have everyone party through the night (or as late as they can handle) and have everyone stay the night if they want/can. And then, have everyone that stayed, wake up in the morning at sunrise to do something special. Like some extra vows or something. That way no one would have to really travel early in the morning or in the middle of the night. Also wouldn’t have to worry necessarily about getting ready and dressed up either.

It should make you wonder, do you actually have trouble in these situations or are you just looking for attention because there is nothing interesting about you? Do you hear how dumb I fucking sound invalidating your experience because it is not as severe or the same as other peoples, or you react differently to other people?

  • @OrionArts87

    @OrionArts87

    4 ай бұрын

    @@pearlcnrd I'm sorry you felt the need to try and insult me over this (saying I'm not interesting and looking for attention and all). Personally, I interpret this situation as the mom doing an a-hole move because she does not mention whatsoever that she has any kind of anxiety or panic disorder, just that she dislikes social gatherings, which yeah, I can understand that and it's completely fine but not an excuse. If she did mention that she had some kind of disorder (which as a person diagnosed by a therapist and a doctor with an anxiety disorder, I would, because it would be a key part to the story) then I would understand why she would have to leave. But, even then if I were in that situation, which I have had to leave events or go somewhere else to calm down, I would explain why I had to leave (which if she had said anything like that to the son or his wife, I'd assume they would not be mad because a super high level of anxiety would be a valid excuse), apologize for not being able to be there at an important moment, and I would NOT insult my husband's new wife. And also, if the mom did have a disorder, I think there's a high chance at least one person in her close family would know, and that would probably be her son. So with the given information, and experience, no I do not think she had any kind of disorder that would have been so bad, she would've completely skipped out on something that important to her child of all people. If she does, then it most likely would've been mentioned because like I said, that's an important part to the story. The point is: Yes, if the story happened exactly as it's told, she's an asshole. She left before the son and mother dance, something that was most like very important to him, with not much of a valid excuse mentioned in the story and then insulted his wife when she was called out for it. My problem isn't that she left early, but she KNEW that there was going to be dance, other people probably knew there was going to be a dance, and she likely knew it was important to her son but still left anyways.

    I feel like the 5:30am wedding thing is why having a huge wedding is not for everyone. If you have a lot of people coming to your wedding, you do need to make accommodations that are comfortable or at least tolerable for most of your guests. If you just have very close friends and family coming, then you can do it exactly how you want it and hopefully the people closest to you will just grumble and show up. It is your wedding and you deserve to have it as you want it because it’s about your love and your union. BUT if that’s the case, extended friends and family are probably not the people you want to be inviting. If you want it to be that intimate and meaningful to the point where it’s a huge inconvenience for other people, you gotta make it small and intimate because 200 people are not about to come to your 5am wedding…

    For the leaving of the wedding one I can understand his point of view, he told the son 'I'm not going to stay' yet the son paid for a meal for him, it is clear from the way he described himself that he is antisocial and probably has issues with large events (which I can relate to crowds are scary) and the son has had to of known his OWN FATHER well enough to know he would not want to be forced to attend such an event and then got mad at him for it? And then let his wife go off on them? Also it is made clear in the post that the father came in a separate car so he is the only one to leave early not the mother, who stayed for the mother-son dance so I don't know why she got any hate. I'm not hating on you or anyone else for your view on this story just wanted to give my opinion.
