This man ball keeping is the best i ever saw.. Surrounded by 3-4 players still manage to released himself.. What a player he was..

I had class mate in high school with similar technique abilitys, we had few boys who trained football, when we played after school nobody could take ball from him, sad thing he never succeed bc of war in Yugoslavia and high corruption in all countrys till this day!!! Never saw such skills ever again, he was small, slim and slow but his skills were pure art, one time he told me to put ball wherever i want and he will hit crossbar, 5 time in a row i set up ball on different position and distance, he hitted crossbar every time!!! We wre 16yrs old

Roman Requelme is really famous in South America for his unique style. He does not run much but he is so lethal and clinical finisher. His passing and dripling are exceptionally amazing. Van Ghal misused him while playing at barca. He is classic number 10. I rate him as high as zizo

I still don't understand why Jose Pekerman subbed Riquelme against Germany during 2006 World Cup Quarter Final. Riquelme pulled the strings brilliantly during that game. He is one of the best No 10s I've ever watched yet so underrated.

This guy was very truly underrated for what he was as a footballer. Had he stayed at Barca longer (Van Gaal!) or moved to another European club, he would have even been bigger than he was. I'm not a Barca fan, but, if it was him and Xavi & Iniesta, or paired with one of them, it would have be something magical.

Riquelme, por su talento esta entre los 20 TOP de todos los tiempos. En ese top se suele incluir a Iniesta y Pirlo, por ser grandes jugadores y por jugar en Europa mucho más tiempo. No obstante, no se puede tomar solo como comparación el haber jugado en Europa en un equipo grande. Riquelme es el mejor jugador de la historia de la copa Libertadores en Sudamerica. Cuna de los más grandes Jugadores de todos los tiempos. Llego a la semifinal de Champion con el Villareal. Un equipo que nunca más brillo luego de su partida. Donde, además, es considerado el mejor jugador de su historia. Fue campeón mundial Juvemil sub 20 siendo la figura del equipo. Fue campeón olímpico con la Selección Argentina, también como figura (ojjo!! en ese equipo había un tal Messi). En la selección mayor, está claro que no tiene más, por jugar un solo mundial, por culpa de técnicos como Bielsa y Maradona. Pese a ello, el mundial que jugó se fue en 4tos, con Alemania, luego de ser cambiado y dejando el campo con Argentina arriba en el marcador. Cabe mencionar, que Alemania, era local dado que se jugaba en Alemania. Que más se puede decir. Hay que verlo jugar para darle el valor que se merece ..... un genio

What a player! The most underrated player!

The best skillful Midfielder I have ever seen. The most successful midfielder I have seen is Zidane,Iniesta,xavi,Ronaldinho who were all greats and who won world cup,CL both. But if you talk about individual skills, this guy Riquelme stands out. Just look at that first touch, that feint, that balance and that dribbling ability. Unbelievable at times. He's like Messi with bit less speed but that first touch is almost identical to Messi's touch. Also when he runs with ball it seems the ball stays glued to his feet which is why its almost impossible to take the ball away from his feet. This is exactly what the England players and coach Sven Ericksson said in 2005 friendly. Like Messi, he had that strange spell on the ball. A magic spell that used to bind that ball to his feet and opposition had to foul him to take it away from him.

I'm from Italy and Riquelme is one of my favorite footballers ever, my fave one is R. Baggio but i love Roman, he was a superb playmaker endowed with great class, intelligence, technique and skills. Fantastic player and in my opinion very underrated. I haven't followed football for many years by now cause it's "another thing" now in my opinion but Riquelme was still part of a football that you could call Poetry...
