The sad thing for me is that this song doesn’t make me think of an ex. No one has ever been good enough for me to desperately and so passionately love and miss them so much. That’s why this is one of the safest songs I’ve ever heard and it’s just so beautiful... but it also makes me cry.

I have this guy friend who comes over every night, is close to my family, and I’m close to his..we’re together basically every single day and...it’s been so long that it’s been this way...if you ask him if he loves me, he won’t answer yes or no. The song sounds like his past lover died from an earthquake and he's been trying to cope with it but he keeps asking himself if everything was falling apart, if they were still there, they'd still be with each other. And the second right was him reassuring himself that they would. The memories keep flowing like 'The night we went drinking' could've been a week or so before the death. It's been a full year since it and it's still heart wrenching to think of his loved one. Anyway that's my input on it.

The "it's fine" hit me hard, the emotions are just too much

Everytime I hear the second *"right"* it rips a tiny piece of my heart. And I've listened to this song for the nth time. And for the nth time, it hurt to hear it.

Every single word and melody coming out in this version makes my heart tug differently. Its like the emotions flowing out from JP's heart melts into us. The epitome of the art of music. It is more than melodies and harmonies and rhymes. Its feelings, emotions, and passion bottled for us to hear.

In the end, whether that person is happy or not, it really shouldn’t affect your personal happiness. Your own happiness is the responsibility of you and only you, and shouldn’t depend on someone else. Of course, heartbreak is a terrible thing, but after the anger and the sadness there has to be forgiveness and moving on. Whether or not the person that hurt you is happier or less happy than you shouldn’t matter, because in the end the only thing that’s going to matter is how happy you are with yourself, and how much you love yourself. Everyone experiences love, and everyone experiences heartbreak. But the truest love is the one you have with yourself. That’s my take on it. But I’m just some random teenager who’s only been in one relationship that’s currently lasted 6 months and barely knows anything about breaking up and love and all that sappy and sad stuff. So I could be totally incorrect with my analysis, I don’t really know anything about this.

This version makes me feel like he's singing to someone he lost, and not to someone he can just go over and see. Just my opinion
