“Do what only you can do, and start letting other people who can do things do them.” This was a huge revelation for me after way too long teaching and running and teacher’s organization. Unfortunately I got to the point of burnout and imbalance first. But friends, you don’t have to make the same errors that Joyce and I and many others made. Learn to delegate. Pastor Robert taught me a hard lesson in a sermon many years ago: he said that not delegating is an issue of pride. You dismiss help as though you’re being kind or humble, but deep down you’re feeding your own ego’s need to ensure you’re seen as valuable, indispensable, etc. Gets better. He said when we don’t delegate we rob others of an opportunity to be a blessing like we have been. I felt that then and I’ve never ever forgotten it. Hope you don’t either.

Feel like God is telling me to slow down. I constantly feel that I'm way behind my peers, in terms of retirement planning, financial success, and all the things of this world. And I'm looking for ways to help fellow Christians also to move ahead in their path financial freedom, so that they can be a blessing to others. Peace be upon on my heart.

👏This was so good. Thank-You for posting this. To the other commentors saying they are “unfollowing you” because Joyce is on your program, that is a matter of immaturity. Not principle. 👉I may not run in your streams of faith, but I don’t want to “Miss God” by presumption, ignorance or judgement. I fell in love with the Word of God as a young college student in the early 00’s because of Joyce.

What do you do when God is the one running you ragged? I didn't have a car for over four years, so I had to walk 6-13 miles a day to get to and from work, the grocery store and wherever else I needed to go. The year prior to me getting a car, I walked 5.5 mi to work, 13 mi while I was at work and another 5.5 mi to get home -- often in snow, rain and freezing cold temps. You likely have postal workers or people in construction/other labor-intensive jobs watching this who have to do likewise on top of raising kids, going to school, etc. Some may watch this and think they need to quit their job.

Mama, I did the same thing to my body. Now I'm in stage C congestive heart failure but God is going to heal me. But yes...I know what it's like to just ignore your body. So many people don't know what this is like... to completely disregard your body screaming at you to slow down or stop or not to do a certain thing. My family life was also like yours. Abused by fathers and abandoned by my mom. I'm so grateful for the fallow ground you were brave enough to dig up. Thank you. God bless you and keep you in peace and joy. ❤❤❤

This is so real. I thought I had to do everything and be everywhere someone asked me to be and I’d look at it like ok I have to serve Gods people. Then some people would not be considerate with my time and would waste it and then I just got exhausted after a while. Eventually I had to set boundaries and cut people off because at some point they’re just self-righteous and they’re only looking out for themselves. I have a lot more time with God and I’m not running my miles up on my car lol. Not sure if it’s equivalent to what they’re saying, but I thought of this moment as I’m listening.

I so thank God for this post and that I ran across it. I literally started crying Joyce when you said Adrenal Fatigue. I didn't even know "Burnout" was a real thing until I researched it and saw so much literature on the topic. The word came in my spirit one day while at work while I questioned what was wrong with me why it would take me so long just to formulate and to type one sentence. My thought process was just in shambles and I was exhausted to the max. When I took a burnout quiz I had high ranks in ALL categories. My hormones suffered and I currently take adrenal supplements daily to gain energy throughout the day. What I felt bad for throughout these past five years of restoration is how could I as a women of God allow myself to get to this state. So, when I hear or see the word burnout I get emotional but I thank God that He is restoring me and that He has taught me about balance and boundaries. Stories like this help me and I know there's nothing to be ashamed of. God created rest for a reason and we have to honor God's principles just like we look for His promises. God bless you two and thank you again for this video! 😇

This was so needed! I had burnt out a bit after 3 years of bible college that I should have rested. I didn't and carried on doing full time work as well as Christmas practice at night right up to the point i lost my voice, had a kind of mental breakdown. It took me years to recover. Then years later i find myself in a new church full of the Holy Spirit. Ive felt ive had to travel 3 hours to get to a practice after work and three hours back to then go to work the next morning at 5:30am totally shattered. I then decided to say no to this til ive moved to that location because i never want to go through that intense burnout again. Thank you for this timely message! God bless you both. X ❤

Here's a way to systematically dismantle suffering: Notice Rest Ask Tap Breathe Feel. We first need to allow our nervous systems to settle, and to start our inquiry from this place of gentle noticing. Once you've taken a few moments to rest, bring to mind the situation you want to inquire into... Step 1 (Notice): Once you've identified what you'd like to look at, notice how it shows up in your awareness: what words, pictures, and energies are here? Once you've taken note of how the triggering situation or person (i.e., whatever is "triggering" your suffering) shows up in your direct experience, start by turning towards the strongest words or picture. Let them play out while witnessing them nonjudgmentally from awareness. Step 2 (Rest): Next, you'll want to rest with whatever words or pictures you are observing or hearing. To "rest" with words or a picture means to do nothing but see it and let it be there for a while. Don’t take your attention off of it. It can also help to notice the peripheral space around words or pictures. To notice the peripheral space, open your awareness to include seeing the space all around the words or picture while simultaneously continuing to look at the words or picture. Step 3 (Ask): In Step 3, ask yourself, "Is there any emotion or sensation stuck to this thought?" Step 4 (Tap): The next step is to tap with two fingers, for several seconds, in the center of your forehead, right above the bridge of the nose. While tapping, pay attention only to the tapping, not to the words or pictures. Step 5 (Breathe): Step 5 is very simple- just take a long, slow deep breath. Step 6 (Feel): Once you have taken a deep breath, bring your attention directly into whatever emotion or sensation you experience in your body. Then, feel into the emotion or sensation without any words or images on it. Stay with that emotion or sensation, and notice the peripheral space around it. Then, see if you can make that energy stay exactly as it is just by feeling it. "Why make it stay?" you might ask. Well, emotions and sensations feel stuck because we resist them. Trying to make them stay by feeling them without thoughts reverses that resistance, often leading the emotion or sensation to dissolve. Please take your time when feeling bodily energies and making them stay, as they may take a while to dissolve this way. Keep feeling the emotion or sensation until it vanishes completely... 13 gentle and urgent reminders from your soul: 1. You're ALWAYS exactly where you are supposed to be 2. Self-esteem is measured by you (nobody else gets to decide your worth) 3. Get rid of fear: FOREVER 4. When things are tough, change the way you see things 5. Don't dwell on/in the past (come back to this present moment) 6. It's only temporary (all of it!) 7. You have what it takes 8. You don't need to change 9. Release your need for control 10. Accept. Allow. Breathe. Deep. 11. Remember where you came from 12. Remember that you are not alone (not ever!) 13. Remember who you are

Do you think the apostle Paul suffered from burnout and would have told us not to overwork ourselves?
