She is an amazing AMAZING teacher. OMG don't you wish every teacher could reach into your soul like this and coax out the part of you that yearns to escape, and help guide you on your journey. This is so fascinating to watch.

That masterclass had many many talents, she is a Rolls Royce, such grace and that overall beauty, I was flabbergasted. She has that personal silvery metalic "fling" in her top, that asks for more...and the future....Mozart is suited PERFECT for the instrument. The Countess in La Nozze...yes. And who knows....in many years....Sieglinde. Strauss, Letzt Lieder...omg.

the question from the young man regarding being a mimic is something I found myself doing. one needs to find their OWN voice and natural sound it also means his speaking voice will not sound strained anymore too as a result.

If my memory serves me right, Pavarotti never sang in Don Giovanni at the Met and Ms Vaness did so but later in the 90’s. Sincerely hope JdD is more accurate in her teaching than with operatic trivia but sometimes I wonder.

It destroyed the integrity of the music when the pianist removed the orchestral closing of the aria. It saved them 2 seconds in a 40 Minute masterclass. I wish he had played it entirely as it provides an excellent closing to the already dramatic and virtuosic aria.

R S I think you could have found a lot classier, less vulgar, insulting way to express your feelings about the comment. If you lash out so viciously, YOU become the problem, NOT the comment. Breathe, relax, and use your words they way you want to be spoken to. You're certainly not perfect and Im SURE youve said something that may not have been so perfect at times. Take a look in the mirror and realize you're NO BETTER and you say things that people want to lash out to also. You can't make your point by yelling from a sewer. Understand? No one will listen, they'll run from you. And you're true message will be completely LOST.

It's her personal expression of her creativity. Don't read into it any more than that. Perhaps focusing on what she says and teaches is all that is significant. I'm concentrating so hard on her teaching I don't even notice what she's wearing. Perhaps your talent lies in fashion and clothes if that's what you are paying attention to. When you make a comment like that it makes you look judgemental of superficial things. People get pretty defensive when you do that.
