This recording is underrated! I haven't heard a better performance of this aria. Countertenors should not reach for one of the greatest soprano arias of the Baroque (Note: I am fascinated by the voice of many countertenors!).

the first time I heard this song was in Farinelli. I love that whole soundtrack of the movie. I cried when I heard this for the first time. 😥

This voice is to angelic so beautiful. I wish I have a voice like this. And I will sing this song every single day

Such extraordinary sweet sadness ~ bitter sweet some would say. I can picture and feel this as one one his deathbed, with this being the last sound ever heard. Literally a Swan Song. Feels perfect. Maybe a good one to play at one's funeral. Definitely one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written.

When you want to sing as beautiful as you can, then praying is unfortunately not enough, you've put a lot of effort in it. Take lessons in how you use your (singing) voice correctly. How to breath while singing. Etc. Etc. Good luck💪

I had to look up what you guys meant with Penthouse LOL. This is such a beautiful aria from Händel. I think this one is sung slightly too slowly for my taste. Look it up guys, the first time I heard this song was in the movie Farinelli (long, long ago) beautiful rendition; if you like her voice, then Cecilia’s rendition of it is also better than this one. This one is slightly too boring for my taste.

The penthouse is a kdrama with opera songs That's why thanks to that drama more people loved opera This song is sang in the penthouse last episode And the version of penthouse sounds more sadder and the key is much higher than the original.

I said it's much sadder because in the story her mother was murdered and she remembered her and her mother sang that song when she's young back then She sang that when she became a prima Donna at her first recital If you'll watch it you will know better why it sounds sadder than the original
