The chances might be slim, the viewership is way behind One Piece and Avatar, two shows that did extremely well. Along with audience scores being anywhere from 60-79%, well below Shogun and shows like Halo.

Netflix if you cancel this series I swear I will never pay for another month again. One of the best book series and we really need to finish this out. D&D I still hate you for thrones. But damn you guys adapted this series beautifully so far

I agree. I’ve read the books and it’s an improvement so far. The characters in book 1 were 2-dimensional which made it difficult to feel invested. This is not the case here.

Please make the season 2! Please make the season 2! Please make the season 2! To be honest, being able to see the birth of this ground-breaking sci-fi TV series is probably already the best event I have experienced this year. As a fan of the original book, I can't wait to see what is going to happen next!!!

As a Chinese fan of the book series this adaptation was done way better than I thought, I thought it would be unrecognizable but they actually merged stories from all 3 books beautifully. This totally redeemed the producers in my eyes after the Game of Thrones ending disaster. Netflix please greenlight season 2!!!!!

I didn't read the books and I heavily disliked D&Ds cockyness during the GoT season 8 fiasco. However you can tell they've been humbled and they have honestly done an incredible job with this show. I hope Neftlix can find it in its ruthless self to let this have another couple of proper seasons, at the very least. These people have done something very special

5:30 That's exactly how I felt reading the books. It feels like the genre is so advanced that there isn't anything really new, and I never thought when I started reading Three Body Problem that I could be surprised. And when I finished it, I thought there was no way the sequels could continue to surprise me. I really hope we get more seasons!

Awesome job from this show creators. I am avid fan of the book, and was extremely protective of the source material. But this series did a great job. Looking forward to season 2 and forth. Netflix, don’t do the unthinkable and cancel it!!!!!!

Jovan Adepo and Benedict Wong pair performances were 10/10 at the season finale. Me and my girlfriend got very excited and on edge all the way, wow! Joe from eastern Canada.

I've read the books, loved them. The Netflix series so far is absolutely outstanding. I could see the foreshadowing throughout. Yes, it's not exactly the same as the books, but that's ok, it's an adaptation and a great one at that. I'm looking forward to the coming seasons.

How he mentions remembering big parts of books rather than some characters in the books is EXACTLY why they made changes with Wang and others.

Some characters yes, they were very flat, but they canged the two more loved characters Luo Ji and Rey Diaz, changing Luo Ji for Saul may not change the plot but erasing Rey Diaz or changing him for a Chinese ex militar that was never a president from a third world Socialist country does.

@@stephyworld8713 it does matter, character background matters and also the reason why they choose them to be wallfacers over so many brilliant people on the world, a chinese ex militar it's not the same as a former president of a third world country that managed to stop the most powerful country in the world, not to mention it was one of the few well written characters, they changed him just because they didn't want to show the death of a leftish president that is inspired by a real person who's politic party it's still in power by his own people, they could've change him by a cuban president instead, they choose no to for obvious reasons.

I assume he meant the girl Luo takes out to the Louvre, but I don't know who he thinks that girl is (assuming she was already in season 1)

There's also the underlying comparison with the San-Ti. cicadas disappear for 10-15 years and re-emerge. Same as a dehydration cycle for them but on a greater scale.

The season finale episode left me in the excitement of the cliffhanger and I really want to see more. Been watching the whole series twice 😊 PS. For those who have not seen the show, please skip all the critics, give yourself a try.

I loved this, and I love the 3 novels as well! I loved 1899-that was meant to be a 3 season arc and Netflix cancelled it even though was a really big hit for them worldwide! They better not do that to this 🤞🏻

Sort of interesting note about the choice for Cicedas. They compare humans to bugs and imply that because the cicedas arent going anywhere, that humanity has a shot. But if you consider how the San-ti can dehydrate themselves, go into stasis, and then reemerge years later, the Cicedas are much more like the San-ti than humans.

I just wonder doesn’t the “wallfacer” nomination make them more vulnerable to attack? Every person can think in their own mind without speaking out. They don’t need to be labelled as the “chosen ones”. Just tell all people in the world to start thinking about solutions but don’t talk about them.

Like many I was disappointed in the rush job to finish GoT when it was up until then a brilliant series. I haven't read the book but know there are some tweaks but really enjoyed Season 1 and at least the book have a conclusion so hopefully this won't be a dejavu moment. Please don't cancel the series, great acting and story, music thanks.

My biggest gripe with this adaptation is the lack of big existential and philosophical provocation, like the "Shooter and Farmer" theory in the first book. As a result, the element of cosmic horror is completely missing. There were a short montage of people rioting and committing suicide, but the world seemed largely remain unaffected after the "Eye in the Sky" event. It’s hard for me to resonate with feeling like a "bug" when all the characters we follow are all so strong-willed and ready to fight. Where's the despair, helplessness, and existential dread when faced against a seemingly omnipotent enemy? What happened to the sentiments of defeatism and escapism? To me, that was a significant beat in the first book, hence when Da Shi delivers his epic speech about locust, it was *chef kiss*. Benedict Wong delivering that speech after the Wallfacer and Staircase project and WEEKS/ MONTHS after San-Ti's declaration of war felt like it utterly missed the mark.

400 years though. If I knew something will take that long to get to Earth, I don't have a reason to freak out so much but maybe because non-religious people won't have their worlds as shattered. Kinda like that convenience store sequence - some people might panic, others will not.

Why do the San-ti start attacking scientists before the disconnect with their contact on earth and their change of heart? How can the San-ti develop simulation technologies if they don't understand the principle of stories? Where are the personalized San-ti VR helmet coming from? who made them? How do you attach to something a nano-filament that cuts through everything?

They attack those scientists probably because they knew these scientists would not collaborate with them and what they are investigating are potential threats. As far as I understand, those VR helmets are probably developed by Ye Wenzhe and her team with technology provided by San-ti.

Just don't let those dullards who epically had ruined 'the Game of Thrones', to do the same with this series.

I’ve yet to watch the series, but the trailer tells me they didn’t cast anybody who has any screen presents or charisma. What happened to movies and TV shows. They’ve absolutely lost their way. So many shows and movies if the main character was killed, I wouldn’t care. You kinda have to care about the characters you’re following. I love Joel, but hate the Mandalorian. And if the Mandalorian died, I would not care.

Talk about a stereotypical character, smokes weed does trips, highly intelligent but doesn’t give a f k, insists on leaving the building knowing someone is trying to end him and straight after narrowly escaping a car crash that ended his date, showing off about not wanting his new job responsibilities……. Typical cocky wasted talent. I’m surprised more people aren’t upset with the portrayal of the behaviour of the brown guy ……,.

Lol the writers made him this way. You write rounded characters by making them a flawed individual and then giving them an arc to show their growth, which will not be until the next season.

Sucks, I love the show, but it looks like the chances of a Season 2 might not happen..... yet Disney keeps rolling out a ton of garbage Star Wars spinoffs.
