Steve had the most technically perfect voice in rock bands. Perfect pitch is awesome. There was nothing to autotune even if we'd had autotune then. People have tried and there wasn't anything to autotune. Personally, even things that could have been autotuned on any of the singers back then would have destroyed what made the music great....the emotion and personality.

@@mamag612 I saw this tour & have been a fan since "Touchin' Lovin' Squeezin' (I was a Kid not even a Teen!) and I remember how the Rock & Roll Media hated Steve's voice at the time! They used to call him "The Duck" as in he sounded like "Daffy Duck"!

You're right about the sound quality. People back then demanded Excellence from their vocalist and musicians. Rehearsals were long hard and brought to a level of perfection. Ask anyone who ever worked for Luther Vandross, James Brown, or even the great dr. Mattie Moss Clark. They will tell you these people were beasts when it came to rehearsals and getting it right. That's why we got such Top Notch music from these artists because they didn't settle for mediocre only for greatness

True story: My husband was actually at this show at The Summit in Houston in high school. We didn’t know each other yet. My parents were very strict and didn’t let teenage me go to concerts. When Michael heard I missed this iconic show? He bought the Blu Ray and “took me to the show” 30+ years later in our living room! 🤣

This performance is mind-blowing. The band was at their absolute peak.

I'm 45, and it's honestly refreshing to see young men like yourselves enjoying the music my generation grew up on.

Steve is king to me. Listen to the entire Escape album. He's the reason I wanted to start singing rock at age 10. After listening to that album, I was changed. Listening to him taught me the vibrato technique. He's an awesome, talented man, but most of all a good man. Will love him forever! ❤ 🎶

I am 50 years old and you never fail to make me smile, get into the music, you name it. Regardless of how many times I've seen a video, heard a song, you make me see it through a whole new light. As of 1996, JOURNEY became one of my favourite Bands.

So many favorites but my top is When You Love a Woman. If you are a Steve Perry fan you will love his one!

Saw Steve Perry live - solo- & he did a bunch of Journey songs that he wrote. Amazing concert. There's NOBODY with that voice - no falsetto, all chest voice! Hard!

I was at that concert in 1981, I think it was a Texas Jam in the Astrodome. Best part, they played the concert exactly how the their songs sounded on their albums, so you could sing along with every note of every song! Thanks Journey
