Thank God he found the original score and was able to re record this masterpiece.
I never listened to this album...and I am nearly 60...It is fascinating how people have different music journeys in life...I am a big music fan since I was 10....Life is a peculiarly splendid. ..
Wow, I grew up on the live orchestra version of this, didn't know this one existed. I liked the narration on the live one much better but really dig the vocals and the differences I hear on this one for sure.
Being one of my favorite albums for over 4 decades, these vocals compared to the original just seem wrong but are incredible and often better. I've never heard this version but it seems quite good, if not a bit slower which I personally like.
I got the Original album when it came out being a HUGE Yes Fan I couldn't wait for more Prog, having devored all the Emmerson Lake and Palmer material this excited me. I liked it but always felt it could have been done better. Then this came out because Rick felt the same way. This is great. Finally fixed to include even more great playing. Had to run out and get it.
LIKE A REUNION WITH A CHILDHOOD FRIEND. THANK YOU. This was great, loved new(?) tracks different from the original. Hard to compete or compare with the original but enjoyed immensely. And I'd love more details.....
This was one of my first “headphone” albums! I saw Rick perform this in Cols., OH in ‘73or’74, then I saw him again when he released Arthur, but Journey is my favorite! I saw him with Yes, that’s how I became a fan. Rick Wakeman, Todd Rundgren, Laura Nyro, the ABB, the Dead & the Band wrote the music of my life! I still listen with headphones, smoke my homegrown & shed a tear or two for all those who are lost & found too, including myself...be safe, be strong, be happy...peace ☮️
indeed a different yet profoundly diff album than the orig I was honoured to be included on a dbl CD album w Rick Tangerine Dream R. Sakamoto et al 1992 on Arcade German label Ricks opus Jack Frost mine I Told You Once....
Great Album 44 years on still (Genius!!!!)
Love this n the faith of Rick too. Enjoyed the 700 club interview even though I'm not part of organized religion
Maravilha! Ouço desde quando era adolescente... Alguém do Brasil?👏👏👏👏
An Immortal Masterpiece. Congratulations from Chile.
As a prize for doing well in a piano competition (as a child) my parents bought this album for me.
How can something be so majestic, beautiful and interesting all at the same time?
One of the finest albums of the 1970's.
First time that I've listened to this marvel, my consciousness couldn't grasp all the beauty, as if I'd been blinded by a rather strong light, but after some experiences and experimentation, I could finally appreciate the divine inspiration and intricacies that were put into this magnum opus.
Preface to the Journey
It is unbelievable that this work has not been recorded on DVD or in any other media
Muy buena versión ... gran interpretación.... además hoy esta de aniversario...
And the Mastero performance this for his 70th birthday! Rick Wakeman is the best!
