Lovely to see this. I've been visiting Kempston and Bedford since I was born (1973)as my Grandparents and other family lived there. Remember waiting for the green coloured buses across from Hooper close to go into town, and drinking Charles Wells golden lemonade in the beer gardens outside the King William and the Half Moon pubs. Wonderful memories :)

Yes happy memories of that route. We lived the other end of St Margaret's Road - Elstow Road. That whole area was my playground in the mid 70's early 80's

I was born in Bedford in 78...I used to love that Golden Lemonade 💛

I've done this route an unknowable amount of times by car, taxi, bus, coach, motorbike, bicycle and on foot - it is so familiar. I shipped out of the area 12 years ago.

I was brought up in Hitchin 30 kms south of Bedford, so I loved this video showing Bedford town centre! I was surprised to see double-decks on the town services (routes 1,2 and 9). When I last visited Bedford in November 2013, all the town service buses were single decks.
