Talked to him in Boise after the concert and told him that I thought he did this song the best of all the people they've had. More heart, more emotion, more genuine feelings. He kept his eyes closed almost all the way through the song. When I told him that, he put his head down, thumped his chest and thanked me. Told me it is one of his favorite songs both to sing and play. Great job.

I never bought a Journey album in the 80's so I never heard Mother Father or Still they ride until a month ago! I am 53! That is a lot of time to hear these songs LOL Anyway I listened to Deen sing these 2 songs over and over for 2 weeks LOL He does such a great job!

Yeah that's really cool you got to tell him that,and for him to say what he said was really what music is all about.

So happy to see he sorted himself out and got a second chance to be a part of the band. Stands as an example that you can overcome your demons if you truly want to get better.

What an amazing performance. Deen has that great range of vocals and drumming at the same time. Truly a gifted musician.

Neal wales in this song. Pure masterpiece.

Deen has a GREAT voice, and he could easily take over as Journey's lead vocalist. He probably likes the idea of just "sitting back and relaxing" while playing drums. To his credit though, Arnel has been Journey's lead vocalist longer than anyone else and Steve Perry is just an afterthought now. Of course, Neal has the final word on it all.

Just watched a video on The Real Music Observer yesterday featuring Deen Castronovo. What a character he is. Seems like a really down to earth kind of guy and so funny. 😊❤

The lack of spotlight on Arnel at the end was really creative. The camera angles were perfect and it was almost as good as than being there. Almost... Nothing really beats being there.

Dean has the soul in his voice like Steve did. No disrespect to Arnel, but Dean as lead vocal would make the songs have that soul back in them.

Only Steve Perry was better

Love hearing Deen sing this.. Id prefer without Arnel.. clouds his vocals..

They don`t need Arnel, the guy is bog average. If you want a Steve Perry sound a like, Deen is 9/10, Arnel is about 6/10.
