Journey into Jyotisha Sastra with Shri. PVR Narasimha Rao

PVR Narasimha Rao has a bachelors degree from IIT, Madras and a masters degree from Rice University, Houston and lives in greater Boston where he works as a firmware manager at a top semiconductor firm. He received "Sanskrita Bhasha Kovida" and "Sanskrita Bhasha Visharada" diplomas at an age of 11 and combines his Sanskrit knowledge with scientific temper to conduct fresh research into the teachings of rishis.
He is an astrology researcher, author, teacher and also the author of popular Jyotish/Astrology software "Jagannatha Hora" used by many Vedic astrologers and students across the world. Thousands of spiritual seekers are performing daily homa (fire ritual) for the dawn of a new Dharmik era on earth and individual spiritual progress, using free and simplified homa manuals on his website (www.VedicAstrologer.org).
In this video, they talk about Science, and how it is actually a very broad term and encompasses a lot more than what the popular science culture wants people to believe. They talk about the term Shastra and what does it mean?
PVR Narasimha Rao explains how Jyotisha Shastra is sub-divided into multiple parts such as predictive astrology and so on. He explains the concept of Natal horoscopy, and how it differs from the Prashna(Question) horoscopy, usually predicted at a later stage of one's life, while seeking answers to particular events. He also explains the Karma theory, types of Karma, and the role it plays in the course of one's life. PVR Rao explains the concepts of free will, destiny, and the correlation between the two. This episode highlights the fact that the theory of Karma is integral to Jyotisha Shastra.
He also talks about the part of Jyotisha Shastra/Astrology, Samhita, that deals with collective entities such as a country, a company, and so on. He correlates the collective Jyotisha/Astrology with the Jyotisha of an individual. He also explains how the karma theory can be applied to a country, based on its formation date and predict the future. He points out how the Jyotisha Shastra/Astrology cannot be separated from other sciences as per the Indian education system, for all are interconnected and need to be approached holistically.
In the video, Shri. Narasimha Rao discusses how the time of birth was calculated in the different yugas and how it is defined in this kaliyuga which is ongoing right now. They also discuss palmistry and its scientific basis or otherwise. Shri Rao explains how the nadis in our body work and how different nadis (between ida, pingala and sushumna) dominate at different times of our life thereby governing many of the actions we undertake. He describes how we have lost the holistic view our sastras offered to help understand ourselves and the universe and how it is time to revive all that. Shri Rao dwells on the sadhana required to be done by the jyotisha so that he adds responsibly to his karma baggage with his predictions. He says prediction is a mix of structured approach and intuition as our sastras are always holistic about their approach. He also says that this holistic approach is important because every prediction the jyotisha is making with respect to another person also adds to his own karma as well as the predictee’s. Hence, he underlines how the role of a jyotisha is a very delicate and needs to be tread with utmost sense of responsibility. Finally, he also speaks about nadi jyotisha.
He talks about another important aspect of Jyotisha Shastra/Astrology that is Parihara or Remedial measures. He explains how remedial measures can be customized according to a person's characteristics and circumstances. He also points out how the various types of remedial measures such as reciting mantras or performing different types of charitable acts can alter one's Karmas. He also explains the importance of Sadhana that will enable us to accept the past karmas and perform good karmas for the future.

India produced brilliant minds in sathya yuga and degraded in kaliyuga.. Western world produce brilliant minds in kaliyuga and degrade or invalid in sathya yuga.. Both are knowledge.. Sathya yuga produced unified mind while kaliyuga produced divided mind, strong left, strucutured minds.. Kaliyuga is driven dominantly by karma, data driven while sathya yuga was driven by dharma, intuition..

Nice to resurrection of ancient traditions by well read persons.
45mins in. I did yoga once for many years about5 and I became very self aware and cured myself of supposed SLE lupus. Turned out it wasn't that and they scared me unnecessarily! I do believe it was fibromyalgia which many years later I have just been correctly diagnosed with! My point is that at this yoga time in my life I was aware1nostril was more open than another. 1 nostril was almost unopenable and at that time I had very cold hands and feet and general bad circulation which improved after tai chi!! A wonderful yoga lady told me that heat was controlled by 1nostril and cold by the other! She also correctly took1look at me (we had a tiny chat and cos I'm so honest i told her i felt i was holding my breath a lot but i never mentioned fear)and she told me I was holding fear in my tummy! How right she was!!
Listening second time after 11 months... all analysis and predictions and specially US elections came true... and wish coming years prove right too

really surprising! I had been to Vaideeswarankoil in Tamil Nadu where Nadi jothish is well known. None of the predictions happened to me till date. That man was just making guesses to arrive at my name , my parents ' name after a few hits and misses. On the whole they appear to be just charlatans making humungous claims , just plain conmen , fraudsters out to making a good living by fleecing gullible people.

All said and done what is on display is fantastic dedication of an INTLIGENT mind with dedication to seek knowledge deep infused in our ancient scriptures . He is right not just we but humanity has gone through dark ages in last 2000 years everywhere. Yes we may have EVOLOVED in science or way of life but what one can understand that we have EVOLOVED not correctly and even sciences have taken a detour in wrong direction. We as humans with trinity of intlect intaligence and imagination ( mind ) we should have been living 150 years healthy life and roaming the galxeies bcs of the platform we had at least 5000 years ago but we have in fact nose dived with health and science becoming COMPLEATLY commercial

This is for programmers to understand. Freewill(current) = Freewill(past) + Prarabdha karma + Destiny; Freewill(past) = Freewill(current); go around in a infinite while(1) {}; loop till we achieve moksha. ie. Destiny = Moksha; Loop ends

As per the Acharyas Astrology is definietly a Sasthra.The astrological classics mention that - Vyanjathi Sastram etat thamasi dravyani sashtram et at - Astrology is the Sashtram which is like a lamp which illuminates the darkness showing all that is in the darkness ie astrology shows all the incidents that are likely to occur in once life. Astrology is the science of time and is also a Anubhava Sastra - Dr Satish.

Sirs, IMHO, it is secondary whether one calls it "homa" or "havan" or "fire yoga". What is primary is introducing Agni into one's life and benefiting from his divine company. He is the first priest and first guru of Veda. He can purify subtle consciousness. Sun in skies (who supports and maintains order in the solar system), soul inside one (which supports and maintains order within one's existence), and holy fire in a homa, are of the same nature and resonate with each other!!! In coming decades and centuries, Holy Fire will be firmly established in the world and restore some level of Dharma and balance in this world. I am fully confident of it - it was Divine Mother's command and promise. Bottomline: Help Dharma in the world and help yourself in the process - help kindle Holy Fire in the world and within!

Appreciate it. BTW, did you know that Rao is an alternate pronounciation of Ram? The difference between Pada and Bhawa was a very insightful clarification.
