    No less important for journalists is the verb to cite (to mention, refer to something / someone) - in part it is close to the verb to mention, however, to cite involves mentioning as an argument, illustration or evidence. Be careful, the verb to cite has two meanings: “to mention (people and things)”, and also “to quote (articles, books, words)”. If you want to quote a person, then in addition to the verb to cite, you can also use to quote.
