I feel like there’s added pressure in the summer when you’re feeling like you’re in a funk. When the weather is nice I feel guilty about staying inside, being sad and not having plans

First of all, thank you for this. I would like to share a couple of things: 'Dumping' in the form of writing (Cameron of The Artist's Way refers to these as Morning Pages), can be wonderfully helpful. When I am aware that I am going down the rabbit hole of thoughts in my head, I name the thought: Suffocation. Anxiety. Comparison., etc. and then, I SEPARATE MYSELF FROM THE THOUGHT--> For example, I think, "I'm suffocating." becomes, "I NOTICE that I am thinking that I am suffocating." As soon as I do that, I am no longer my thought. It is separate from me and I can take a breath and go into my body, being more present. We have more than 70,000 thoughts a day! and that's the job of the brain, to have thoughts. The thing is, many are lies, observations that trigger us and become 'real' somehow. We give them meaning when there is none. Noticing and separating is a good tool for bringing me back. The final thing I wanted to offer is, when I feel blue or anxious or afraid, I have learned (in therapy) to acknowledge and thank the feeling. In this way, it dissipates. Why? Because, feelings have a FUNCTION. They do't pop up out of nowhere. They serve us, protect us, warn us...and, they want to be acknowledged. I have a little conversation like this: Hello fear. I feel you. Thanks for coming today. I understand why you are here. You want to protect me and, I appreciate you. As soon as I embrace the feeling, it begins to fade...after all, it is impermanent, as every single thing in this life is. I have learned that if, on the other hand, I ignore feelings, they persist and persist, needing me to be aware of them. In my humble opinion, you did not fail. Go easy on yourself. Again, appreciate your share. Take care.

I love this video!!! I have been journaling since I was 7!! I have all my life in journals and it has been the best thing I´ve done. I love going back and remember who I was. I also like the mind mapping idea, thank you for sharing Margot❤️

Now that Zan's moved to the city also, can you talk about how you feel about balancing you-time, friend-time, and boyfriend-time? For me if I was in a funk I'd find myself always with my partner but it seems like you have such a good handle on those boundaries and that balance
