I hope you all enjoy!!! This is a video I personally worked on!!! Thank you guys for watching! edit so a part of the video got copyright claimed so here's what I said in text form for those who got confused around the 21:45 "While feeding your family is noble, lying isn't. From what can be hypothesized, Jotaro has yet to tell them about the world of stands. A significant factor of the neglect/absence was probably due to him learning in Diamond is Unbreakable that dangerous stand users attract other dangerous stand users. From parts 3 to 6, there is an overwhelming majority of stand users who are just fucking psychopaths with a fucking kill on sight mindset. Due to being placed at the top of this world of stands, Jotaro and star platinum will constantly be challenged, as seen in parts 4 and 6. That leads Jotaro into this mindset of not involving his family in the dangerous adventures he is living in. While noble, its kind of fucked up as this does lead to some trauma with Jolyne and some pretty high resentment towards him, which makes a bit of sense. How would you feel if you're sick, in jail, and need help from a father because you screwed up… but get no reply because he's too far away? But I can't blame the guy for this, maybe the job, but not him. But for the demise of enemy stand users, it does make some sense. For example, Yoshikage Kira, a serial killer with a body count of 48+ in both senses of the phrase, should not be allowed to reign free over Morioh and do whatever he wants, which is when Jotaro, the irregular justice, comes in. Kind of mirroring his part 3 speech with Kakyoin. Even though he does win against those evil forces, it cost him the love of his daughter and his wife, both of whom he cares very much about. The life he leads now is that of sadness, of an empty road only being walked by him, never to tell anybody how he feels."

Part 3 is weird, it's everything at once: The quintessential Jojo experience. Araki was obviously still experimenting with Stands and their abilities, so you have a lot of one-dimensional Stands compared to later. The story is pretty simple. At the same time he nailed the squad and their personalities, I think only GW can compare. Also has very interesting enemies and abilities after arriving in Egypt.
I always interpreted Star Platinum and The World being the exact same type of Stand as Araki making a perfect ying and yang between Jotaro and DIO: Araki’s own professed ideal hero for the story and the main villain of the series being polar opposites and the ultimate story of good vs evil in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure

Jotaro IS JOJO. He is the MAIN JOJO, the most iconic JOJO, he is in 4/9 parts, 3 as a Major Character and 1 as a Minor Character, 1 as a Protagonist. He has probably the strongest BASE main character stand (start of their part) and is an amazing character who never falters.
And also the way Jotaro unexpectedly had armor (books) under his clothes in order to protect himself from enemie's projectiles (DIO's knives) like in 15:17

METAs, i think you missed a very very, VERY, important aspect of Jotaro's character. Jotaro doesn't kill; he kills only those where there is no other choice. At the beginning of part 3 he says he's afraid that he's gonna kill him someone with the evil spirit. He even says in the fight against Kakyoin, that he thinks it can be more savage than him. Kakyoin lost so much blood and rip up the school, he shudda died!. He then goes on to take out every opponent, but not kill them. The only one he's ever killed was Dio. And there's also the fact that he even when beat down Kira, he didnt kill him. Jotaro's power is up there with Dio's, Diavolo's, Kira, and Josuke. And like Superman, he holds himself back. He chooses to not do more than necessary. And kinda like with Jolyne, he probably doesn't think its necessary to tell her that he always cared. But in his last moments he wanted to make sure she knew. Even Jolyne kinda did the same with how she recounted herself stealing that car.

@organicelephant5416 for the most part, yeah. And Superman holds back a lot. I remmeber my friend saying "Steely Dan has to be dead after that". But no, he's still alive. Just horribly beaten up. He'd eithe drown under after being pummeled or drown after that Star Finger. And given Jotaro couldnt get out of that situation any other way, just resorted to that method. Also possible that since it was his first time doing that, he probably didnt expect the damage to be that severe, since later he uses it on Strength and he did it just enough to pierce his skull but not enough to kill him. Jotaro is a interesting character when you think about it, similar to the rest of the members of his family, he had to face darkness in the world at a really young age. Like his grandfather, he stayed alive long enough to keep fighting and travelling the world to see how much darkness was out there and would it come back to haunt him. The sad truth about it was yes. He found Josuke, learned of the arrows and had to fight the serial killers and psychopaths in Morio. He was worried about Giorno, though as far as we know, they never ended up crossing. Then finally sacrificing himself to go help his daughter and save the world, only not being able to do both. He was my favorite Joestar until I watched Josuke and Giorno go through their journeys

Thank you for this in depth character video about Jotaro. You put into words why Jotaro is my favorite Jojo
When jotaro cares about someone, he will go to Egypt and back for them
I'd like to add that EVEN AFTER his memory was taken, he still was able to somewhat remember Jolyene, as well as stand up and be consciouse a bit longer, and from what we see when he cuts himself in his coma and the damage is shared with Jolyene, his love for his family is literally ingrained into him, practically always *fated* to put his loved ones first, and Pucci knew this. He knew Jotaro, or any Joestar, would be unable to sacrifice their loved ones due to the strong bonds they hold for them, literally making it impossible for them to deny their fate and sacrifice them for the greater good. I got this realiztation of his literal igrained love for his family when we see Jolyene remember what Jotaro said to her, while she just finished her fight with Dragon's Dream. And I also figured that's also why Jotaro, the absolute bringer of Justice who, we see, would be willing to play dirty/use any means necessary to defeat his opponent, literally unable to do anything but save his daughter. Atleast, that last part was how I saw it.
@shotaaizawa1206
11 ай бұрын
I also want to mention that many people often miss-interpet the part 6 ending Araki stated that, while none of the dead souls would be cross to the Pucciverse, they did indeed return in the Ireneverse due to Pucci no longer being part of the Universe, as Made in Heaven's reset technically made him outside the Universe thus why he had absolute control of fate (though him altering Emporio's fate is what got him because while he was not directly part of the Universe due to him being outside of fate, he still directly interfiered with Emporio accidently giving him the chance to level the battlefield, making him touchable: other wise, Pucci would literally have been untouchable due to his presence outside of fate and everyone still bound to theirs). Jolyene's name went to Irene, likely indicating the "Jo" was likely a representation of their fate to fight against the dark forces of evil, and since Pucci died technically no longer bound to the Universe and resting it once more, he was no longer part of the original history that we saw before. The events of parts 1-5 happened, but Weather Report never got switched and lived a happy life, Ermes's sister is alive and well, Jolyene never got into that incedent and Jotaro likely stayed with his family due to the lack of Pucci causing stand users to go after him constantly, likely meaning he stayed with his wife and daughter as a hapy family man. Now wether the souls actually returned, I must admit, I only say this due to me seeing several people mentioning Araki stated this and I personally never looked into it, so I could be wrong, but Pucci is no longer part of this history and thus they part 6 cast did live better lives, with the exception of F.F., due to her being a stand/plankton colony plus was made with the help of Pucci, and Emporio, due to Pucci's intervention also effectively taking him outside of the Universe technically like he was. It's still, none the less, bittersweet but I still really love it.

@@shotaaizawa1206what interview does Araki say Pucci isn't in the new universe? Even with the death of FF she says even if they revive her it wouldn't be the same FF though it would look similar (foreshadowing the ending to an extent) her. Araki even doubles down on that sentiment in Part 7. I think a possible interpretation is there's a new version of everyone, including Pucci, in the reset universe, living a better life.

I grew up watching those old Eastwood westerns. Every year we’d get Clint Eastwood western week where they’d play one movie a night all week. They also had Bruce Lee Week. That was awesome too. You see Clint was the definition of cool. So I don’t get it when someone doesn’t love Jotaro because he is just like Clint in those amazing movies. Maybe being cool isnt cool anymore. So yeah, Jotaro is my favorite JoJo. And that means something because each JoJo is awesome in their own way. But Jotaro is the guy we all wanted to be when we were young. For reference sake I was born in the 70s.
Thank you finally someone standing up for my boy😭😭
I’d never thought about it but when you brought up the fight with DIO, I realised how “Wild West” the fight was. It basically turns into a quick-draw with time-stop as the pistols.
Jotaro in the beginning was able to stop a bullet. Later on in the show you see that Dio did the same thing, showing they had the same kind of speed. They also throughout the show say Star Platinum was the fastest stand.
Jotaro is the representation of jojo
Another possibility on why Star Platinum and The World have the same ability, besides similar tarot cards and family shenanigans, is the way that Jonathan's distress signal works. We're told that the awakening of Jotaro, Joseph, Holy, and even Josuke's Stands are because of Jonathan's body sending a signal to the rest of the Joestars that DIO has awakened. The way I always interpreted it is that the signal awakening in them the exact Stands they needed to stop DIO. Joseph received a stand that could find DIO, Holy received a stand that would encourage them to track him down, and Jotaro received the only stand that could actually beat DIO. This is just a theory, but it's an interpretation I personally really like, and seeing as something like Jonathan's signal never really happens again, it seems plausible.
@Tsunart

Almost a year later but I just wanted to say I really like that interpretation!
I never was a great fan of Jotaro. Especially in part 3. However, in my eyes he redeem himself in the fight against Dio and also with his presence in following parts. He became truly remarkable character climaxing with his love for Jolyne. I feel like other JoJo’s are much better in their respective arcs, but Jotaro received a character development through out 3-4 parts, which makes him really “slow-baked” person and finally receiving an ending he deserved the most. A peace.
Weird, didnt really see much jotaro hate at all though maybe i havent looked at the right places. My thoughts: I always just saw jotaro as an extension of the heros journey followed through in both its entirety and aftermath. From his protagonist days in stardust crusaders to a more veteran role tutoring future seekers of justice in morioh to his more background "retirement" time in part 5 and finally the conclusion of part 6 with the aftermath of his prime days finally catching up to him. Its a theme other anime mangas are still exploring to this day like jjk, mushoku tensei and the upcoming anime frieren: beyond journeys end. Just the question and answer of "what happens after" the look we get into the end of the protagonists story we all know would happen eventually but dont exactly see past the moving credits. All heros die eventually, all stories end its just a matter of what we, as the audience, are privy too. Pretty similar ideas to yours.

Kenshiro from fist of the north star is the OG loner and all he wants is his lady back

Both Kenshiro and Jotaro are the OGs
Absolutely amazing video
When you put it that way, that sounds metal AF.
Was waiting on this onr
People actually dislike Jotaro? Bro he's the coolest character in the entire series and possibly in the entirety of fiction, wtf. Huge Clint Eastwood fan too so its a major plus that Jotaro was inspired by him.
This is so deep and i definitely agree with you Meta about Jotaro! That is why he is my best jojo, a silent hero that saves everyone and protecting his family, and not bragging about it.
Bro when I finished part 3, I fucking cried for like two days. I’m glad I got to watch it, and the buildup from 1-3 is amazing!
Amazing video
Thats what im talking about!!! That’s why he’s the MVP!! That’s why he’s the GOAT... THE GOAT!!!
This goes so hard.
Finally i just subbed a one month ago im Finally early for a video not one or two years after upload
I've watched jojo's 9 times now from part 1 to part 6. The series is goated I can't believe there's people out there that would miss out just because it looks different and part one is typical classic tropes but still, if they were a little patient and open minded they would strike literal gold. And I'm saying this as someone that did almost miss out because when I was younger I thought the art style looked weird and I thought it was just a stupid meme show, then I thought I'll give it a try. I never had a favorite anime until I watched jojo's. And part one got me intrested, part two got me hooked and once I got to part 3 I instantly decided to binge watch it all. After part 5 I knew this shit is fucking god tier definitely worthy of my favorite anime, good openings good endings they tell a good story and actually have great endings. The stories never go on and on and become boring. Araki inspired me to try and create my own story, Miura and Kubo were also contributing factors.
Is that “The lamp is low” in the background?!?! I love that song!!!
Great analysis
I’ve thought this for so long
Bro delivered
Tbh, as much as it's sad, how can you blame the guy for trying to keep his family away, after ALL the god dam psychos he meet. Just think about people like dio, kira, the Darby's, Tower of grey, Aqua necklace, (the guy with the stand Seth), death 13, the god dam rat. Like imagine you as a father know that there are going to be dozens (or even hundreds) of them going after you and ultimately using your daughter to get to you (like Pucci did). Edit: i mean in general not you specifically blaming him.
i dont know if everyone noticed but in the intro everytime they were shown after the episodes that led to the end of dio they showed the way all of the crusaders died or got hurt
Jotaro Kujo is truly One of the Greatest Protagonist to Ever be Written.
Certified Jotaro Moment
The first three parts get better and better the more you rewatch them, the squad dynamics and the overall setting of these parts just hits difference as compared to the rest of the parts, they feel like they're the last of pure JoJoness.
Watching this cause I saw his tweet about it and want to support his hard work
Nice!
LET'S GOOOOO FINALLY 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
honestly i can't even imagine the survivors guilt Jotaro probably was going through after part 3 going forward
The way they were using their stands to move at the end super jumping and shit was fucking sick.
HOLY HELL, I have a serious newfound appreciation for Part 3 DIO! I always just accepted DIO as the big bad of part 3, but I never considered the thematic weight of his appearance. Jotaro views stands as the ultimate invisible gun, a weapon that can be used in plain day and harm innocents without repercussion. If Jotaro embodies a judge-executioner exercising "the law" on twisted stand users, then DIO embodies the ultimate criminal. He kills in the night, can exist within a *world* all his own and escape the consequences. Jotaro receiving a similar ability frames him as an avatar for the forces of good, similar to Gioeno in Part 5. This rabbit hole is DEEP AF
20:25 I’m still trying to figure out how he was ripped in half yet is connected when we see him in a wheelchair, this beat down is insane and no one should survive that

Thanks meta
Goated video
Can’t talk about a western duel style battle without the end of the n’doul fight.
I liked the manga where star platinum looked like Jotaro, but also the gradual change into it’s own personal form while still being the same as jotaro’s fire to fight for what he deems as right.
Part 6 jotaro is my favorite version.
You've captured my feelings on Jotaro. I honestly didn't vibe with him at first, but he's grown on me significantly over time and became my 2nd fav Jojo
Cool
At 21:42 the audio goes quiet
After going over the anime parts I like jotaro more and more. Part 3 gets enjoyable
META you probably wont get a chance to read this but those things you were saying about part 3 left me baffled in the beginning. I must not be online enough because all my friends talk about how much they love part 3 and the thing that made it so fun was its "Villian of the Week" type writing. They enjoyed the thrill of not knowing what crazy person, animal or thing could have a stand and try to attack the hero's. 😂 Either way, amazing video
Bruh IDK why but Part 4 jotaro has and still is my favourite version of Jotaro I think It's because I like how they handled the whole previous main character to mentor thing, they made him wise and feeling like a mentor but still kept him feeling like the same character plus, they didn't nerf him into oblivion like they did Joseph for part 3
Babe wake up, metas uploaded
At first I was one of the fans who really didn't like him. I never thought he was bad, I just thought he was very boring in comparison to the other far more animated characters in Part 3. After reading part 4, I went back and decided to reread Part 3 and found more subtleties. He's not bland or stiff... he's just quiet. What solidified my full turn around on the character was Part 6. While Jolyne is my favorite JoJo, Jotaro's interactions with her gave him even more of the depth I initially thought he lacked. His quiet nature in 6 specifically was saddening and it shows just how much the events with DIO had weighed on him. He's quiet and distant from her in part because he was dealing with Yoshikage Kira, but also because DIO forever changed him. He can't let his daughter get hurt as he pursues the remnants of DIO's followers. He will love and protect her in the only way he can tragically think of. Cut her off and isolate himself no matter how much it hurt. For me, Stone Ocean finally, fully highlighted the tragedy behind Araki's definition of a hero. The tragic loneliness of the man with no name.
This is a good video
And they call me jotaro simp when i say that he has character depth is not just a bland protagonist
Jotaro is just a guy who thinks violence is the answer with friends that actually give value to friendship and their actions. Jotaro is empty unlike them he doesnt do talks and only punches. As the time goes on and he loses his friends and sees his grandpas life fade before his eyes he started giving value to things. As we see him at the end smiling at a photo of him and his friends. He starts a hobby a family and a bond between him and koichi. He is the best at character development. And he had a lot of time to develop it. Thats the reason he stayed till the part 6. He is the best for a reason.
