Joshua Tree Cholla Cactus Garden | 4K Walking Tour
Cholla Catus Garden in Joshua Tree National Park
Approximately 12 miles (20 km) south of the park’s north entrance is the 0.25 mile (0.4 km) Cholla Cactus Garden Nature Trail; this flat loop leads hikers through nearly 10 acres (4 hectares) of landscape dominated by the teddybear cholla. This unusual stand of cacti is located in the Pinto Basin, a large expanse of alluvial fans covered with creosote bush (Larrea tridentata) and burrobush (Ambrosia dumosa) for as far as the eye can see. There are very few teddybear cholla stands in the park.

I've been there a couple times from Ohio so it's a cool sight to see. Love the Cholla's. Just stay on the trails and don't touch them. Don't walk your dogs near them, either.
I'd avoid going there like the plague, that trail is too damned narrow. 😫

Be careful of all the cactus. Every time I'm here I see at least one person pulling out needles.
How far is this garden from the parking lot?

You pretty much get out of your car & the trail starts at the parking lot. No hiking at all and the trail isn't very long, either - a small, less than 1/4 mile loop.
