Count me in because I have autism too so I know how you feel. I’m still struggling and have started losing hope but I believe that god is on my side. And I believe that I will one day overcome the darkness that has poisoned me for 19 years now since I was five years old. In the name of God I pray that he gives me strength to triumph over the demons that are in my mind. Amen 🙏

So i made up my mind to use tonight. My sobriety anniversary is less than a month away. I started texting around to see if anyone had anything. My friend called me and begged me not to. I was silent, and i listened, but the mental warfare was too loud. Hung up the phone and heard a train outside my window. Remembered the song and searched for it... Looks like I'll be clean another day.

Anyone here in 2024? If you are, angels are watching over you, prayers are being said for you and enjoy this mans voice.

I always thought I would always be the guy that would be very depressed everyday forever. And for a while i was. And when I was 11 I had scizaphrina. Now I have autism. And I always never like going to church. But one on my teachers gave me a bible. And I found a church that teaches me about stuff I always wanted to know more about god. I've been baptized twice. Now I live a happy life. I have friends. And its all thanks to my teachers and this song. God bless you Josh Turner. :-)

This was the first song I ever sang in public for the church we were going to at the time. I got brave and asked the pastor if I could perform it before the service and he said yes. When we went to church that Sunday we had standing room only and a friend told me that they heard I was going to sing that train song as he put it. I was scared to death to sing it but got a standing applause for my performance. Quite a few people asked to be baptized because of that song. I feel that the Lord used me for that purpose that day and I'm glad I did.

I was listening to this song when I was on my knees, crying for my mom’s health. I was devastated because she has cancer and wasn’t doing well at all. God talked to me through this praise, and when I opened the Bible, it was Psalms 27. God confirmed that we should just wait on Him. We still need a miracle, but now we have faith and praise while we wait! My mom is a woman who follows our Lord’s words, and I ask you to pray for her health as well. Her name is Maria Juracy and she has a serious Lymphoma.

3:22 That hit me...a friend of mine and I were both at the ends of our ropes. We were both severely depressed, and battling self hatred with feelings of hopelessness. My friend took his own life. He was a staunch, prideful atheist. Out of the two of us being in the same boat, I was the one that came back. I did cling to the Lord, and I've got such inner peace now! I've grown so much since then, and I'm so happy to be alive! I do miss that friend dearly, and I miss sharing music with him. Thank God, I didn't board the long, black train, let alone be hit by it.

If you read his story you will find out that his deep voice is a result of a medical condition, he has a lesion (growth) on his vocal cords which effects his voice, but i agree totally with you about him having a good voice, God has blessed him.

Seen him at them Lowe's motor speedway one of the great shows I seen

Many times I thot about riding that train. I thought there was no love for me, no hope and no future. Two days ago my whole outlook changed when my neighbours son committed suicide. He was lost, didn't think anyone loved him or would miss him. Little did he know just how many people loved him and how many hearts are filled with tears, heartache and guilt toed off with love. I'm so thankful now I have a different outlook. If you know of someone who is strugggling offer an ear, listen to what they have to say, it may just save thier life. I miss my friends son, and I hate seeing the pain and heartache they are suffering. I'm reaching out to anyone who thinks about riding the long black train, please seek help, you are loved and will be missed. Bless all the hearts struggling lord, they need your help. I remember contemplating suicide fifteen years ago when this song came on the radio. The line in the song where it goes, "There's an engineer on that long black train. Making you wonder if the ride is worth the pain," I know that's what that line says, but to me when I hear it, I hear in my head "Making you wonder if YOUR WALK is worth the pain. Over 2000 years ago, Satan tried talking Jesus out of walking to Golgatha for us because He knew that by His sacrifice it would free us all. We all have our own "Walk" that we need to endure in life. Meaning that we all have a destiny that God has called us for. And some have longer walks than others. Whether that's a path to a career change, or whatever it is. And in life, we're going to hear literal voices in the form of concerned friends or family or figurative voices in our head coming from an origin of fear that's going to try to talk us out of our destiny. And some of the reasons that those voices give might make sense. But that's OK because Jesus already overcame the voices of fear. Don't stop loving your friends and family, but ignore the voices of fear and just keep walking...

Noah Abel Who are you listening to? Taylor Swift? Know your country artists and country music. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Just because one or a couple country artists play it differently than some doesn't mean you can lump all country artists together.

This was my grandpa’s favorite song. We played it during his funeral. Rest In Peace, Grandpa. You will be missed.

He has boarded the long black train. My mother boarded it last year. One of my favorite songs. He will rest in eternal paradise. The lord is giving and forgiving. Death isn’t the end. I love this song, I really love this to hear him Josh sing this and any song.I love the fact that his entire family sings with him at times. He really truly has faith and love for God . Our creatior I admire a person or artist for his or her belief!

I got my self lost from the Lord and I found myself on that long black train for several years. With the Lords wonderful love, kindness, grace and power I've climb off of it. I've given myself over to Christ again. If your lost, or sad I beg you please turn your face to God and lay your worries and cares at his feet. Even if you've been gone for years or denied he even exist, I want you to know, he loves you and wants you with him. God bless you all!

I rode that long black train for 50 years, I came home from Vietnam and went wild, I looked into Jesus from a distance but I don't think he would accept people like me.

Sadness and then SALVATION !... Love it.

Not many people believe in the long black train today but God is going to humble them in 2023. They will be on their knees in prayer for God again. When God humbles a nation they will never forget until they die.

Man we need more people like Josh Turner and who ever agrees give me an amen

Finally after months of wanting to ride the long black train, I realized it really wasn't what I wanted. I wanted to live, I thought about my family members who passed away from cancer. They fought hatd but lost the battle. So why should I take my life when they had the courage to fight to the end. So I've seen the light. ❤❤❤❤

This is the first time I’ve hear this song in years. But every time I hear it it reminds me of my grandma who passed recently. When I was little I would make her play this song on repeat endlessly and we’d sing it together. She was the greatest woman I’d ever known. Such an amazing song.
