Is that really unrealistic though? Until 3 years ago they were consistently winning the big 10 and even two years ago when they didn't they were a missed field goal away from a natty. @@daniellooney8878 I think the difference is that OU has not had the level of talent brought in that OSU has. We got outmuscled on OL a number of times last year and did not fully address our OL needs so far, neither in recruiting nor in the portal. If we fail to accomplish our goals this year, I think OL deficiency likely will be the root cause. That said, I am really excited to actually see this team play in the fall. The Defensive Backs played really well at Ohio State last season but thinking what if they have that same DB play but allowing the pass rush loose and get after the opposing QB. The run defense was alright last season would like to see them keep teams under 100 yards rushing this season. The offense loaded at Running Back and Wide Receiver but I hope with a more experienced O-Line I'm hoping they are better as a unit this year compared to last with less experience. I also wonder how the Quarterback position will be this season. It will most likely be QB Will Howard who transferred in from K-State because of how much experience he has under his belt and don't forget his height and weight are close to Josh Allen. I think with the addition of Chip Kelly as our Offensive Coordinator will be huge for this offense in 2024 because how great he is as an offensive coach.

My thoughts are their defense MAY be the best they’ve had in a long time and they were pretty good last year too. Offensively is where I question this being one of their best teams. Offensive line should be fine but don’t think anybody believes it’s going to be better than a typical OSU o-line. They have one of the most talented and deepest QB rooms in the country but they aren’t going to start a true freshman and Will Howard is a solid QB but nobody thinks he’s a CJ Stroud, Justin Fields, or a Dewayne Haskins. They possibly have the deepest WR room in the country but you only play so many guys and don’t think anybody thinks any of these guys are a MHJ, or Garrett Wilson, or JSN or Chris Olave just yet. They probably have the best 1-2 punch at RB but don’t think either of those guys are a Zeke or a Dobbins. They are deep on offense but feel like they lack the top end talent of some of their best offenses. They’ll definitely be a good offense but theirs a chance they’ll be kind of average by OSU’s standards.

OSU shuffled the oline for the cotton bowl. They weren’t ready to play a 3rd string qb it was a disaster. That same team was had the ball in Michigan territory down 6 under a minuet to go. Didn’t go there way but the picture I’m painting is how close they were with a Syracuse level QB. The offensive line is not much of a question. If healthy the starting 5 all have 1 full season starting experience at OSU or bama. And now you add in that will howard is a legitimate threat to run, which adds an element to the offense that McCord did not. This teams only question to me is linebacker. Talent wise they are in better shape but they lose the veteran presence of eichenberg.

While there is some serious young talent in the quarterback room, I am concerned that the veteran transfer that is expected to start will not be savvy enough to take the team to the national championship. What a silly comment. Howard played on a team that had maybe 2 or 3 4star kids. He has more talent on the O line then all of his previous team. He won a conference championship with that team. Now he has 5 stars sprinkled with 4 🌟 kids everywhere. Not to mention the run support behind him. Best RB room in the country. Be logical here. We won the natty with Craig Krenzel having less. This team is special. The unity is special. The coaching is special. This will be the greatest CFB team in recent history. But keep doubting them. That will only drive them more. How people can't see the simple things astounds me. Stop regurgitating ignorant talking head rhetoric.

Clueless take being spewed by someone who does not understand the Chip Kelly offense... You watch Howard go out and be the Conferences top QB. NOT because he is a guy who is going to carve up a defense with his arm but because the running game and Howard's ability to cripple a defense with his legs... He will extend drives with his feet and keep the chains moving. The offense will pass when it wants and rarely when it has too.

OSU certain is one of the few, if not the only team, that can claim to be in the conversation with UGa and 'Bama. However, both have consistently recruited at a slightly higher level than OSU. So, they really should have the edge in that discussion. However, the recent Buckeye raid on 'Bama when Saban left certainly brought up the talent pool at the expense of a direct competitor.

OSU is so overrated bruh like as an ole miss fan who hates ga it's not close. OSU has an elite roster but both of their question marks are the positions u CANT have question marks at. Tbh this should show why day is not the guy. Ole Miss let go of q bc his price tag was to high. OSU alr had an elite rb instead of getting q go out and get a guy like lance heard or whomever they valued as the best olineman day is to flashy. Quinshon flashy Caleb downs flashy this team overrated(both those players are elite) but this is no where close to the best roster in the country or even OSU's best roster in the past 5 years
