Jim Harnaugh coached at Michigan 8 years before he won a Natty. Before that, people were calling for him to be fired. Lincoln Riley has been at USC going into his 3rd season and is way ahead of schedule. He will win a Natty within the next 5 years. Especially with his new D staff.

Don’t compare you little team to Michigan, our coach gets 3 and low 4* and coach them up your coach needs 5* to be average, if you were in the pack-10 I’ll agree with you but the big ten is a different beast

@@terencethompson5789 a coach has to grow and acknowledge his deficiencies. CLR has done just that with the new hires at D. If I am not mistaken, the wolverines were in SC's current position before and during CJH's tenure which kept beating its head against the wall and losing to OSU until they figured it out. So what makes you surmise that SC can't figure it out also. We are a blue blood program with a great tradition of winning just like the wolverines. Harbaugh is gone, you have a new, young never before HC bit a solid roster. We have a solid Coaching staff and are building our roster in DL and OL. Wr are not there uet but sr are coming. We will see who will will win this year and the years to come based on each team's strengths and weaknesses. May the better team win.

USC's championship runs in 2003 and 2004 had an amazing defensive line of Californians: Sean Cody, Mike Patterson, and Kenechi Udeze.

As a Miami fan who is from Chicago and now lives in Florida for 20 plus years, your correct! USC and Miami are unique. They are private schools located in famous warmer weather year around international cities. Their states and location in those states are load yearly with HS FB recruits, that everybody in the nation wants. They also both historically have been able to nationally recruit for at least 40 years!

If USC 'moved the needle' the PAC-12 would've not dissolved. You're in the Big 10 because Ohio State did the one thing USC didn't do: consistently win after the BCS era.

Not so long ago, St. John Bosco had the biggest OL in all of football - NFL included. You can find you some OL out West. What you don't find is elite level DL

USC fans should be over the moon that they might have a real DC. Much more important than the talent they’re bringing in.

Need to first prove coaching up this season on defense improvement and still worry about signing day. Exciting news yes, but will see because the depth still needs love as well. Recruiting is just warming up and highest bidders can come in. I don’t see anything wrong in what he said.

USC will win the next 4 out of 5 national titles easily....

Coaching is the most critical factor to good play. These are college kids and even the most elite players are dependent upon being given directions and coordination.

Spot on, we don't have the big boys in Cali like the south..we'll recruits the skill players in Cali and grab a leneman here and there.

love seeing fans of other schools acknowledge usc is making big scary moves. our pressure comes from making all this noise and hoping that we perform well in the Big 10. besides all the beef and fanbases clashing. PERSONALLY, i’m ecstatic to play against some of the best teams in the nation year by year. good luck to all of y’all.

I never said USC will be the best defense in the nation, but the BIG Ten isn't the most offensive heavy conferences and EVERYONE knows that. So don't go and say that we'll be crushed because PAC-12--it was called the PAC-12. Not PAC-10 since 2011--had the best offenses in the nation statistically last season. Don't be arrogant. Enjoy the changes and competitiveness.
