I pointed out to my wife that I am happy I’m an Auburn fan because even though the loss was shocking on Saturday as soon as the numbers on the game clock hit 00:00 the only thing to me about the game was “well that sucks.” But I was able to move on and my son and I got up our Christmas lights and had a good time. The reason is 47 years of being an Auburn football fan has taught me that greatness can happen sometimes but it’s not guaranteed and when it don’t happen you move on and hope for the next opportunity for greatness to be achieved. If I was a Bana fan…….well let’s just say that there are not enough Prozacs or Zolofts in production 😂😂😂😂

Josh,Jerry Kill deserves more credit. He was a 24 point dog last year and beat Liberty by 35. That simply doesn't happen, especially 2 years in a row. Styles make fights and everyone has someone that gives them problems. Freeze will turn Auburn around 🦅

I have searched KZread for 2 days and cant even find highlights for this game!!

Pump the brakes just a little. Do people remember Kirby Smart's 1st year at Georgia?? He lost 5 games - Vandy, GT, UT (all at home), UM, UF, and ALMOST lost at home to Nichols State (last minute win)!!!!!! All this with a program that was left in really good shape and had won 10 games the year before. Freeze is a good coach. Let's see how he fares the next 2 seasons.

HF is beyond his prime. He is a middle-of-the-road coach. You'll see. He had 5 years at LU, and his W-L average was exactly 8-5 (except the Covid season) with multiple players who are now (or were) NFL players. Yeah, you'll win a few big TV marquee games to please the boosters. But you'll never be a top card with him. That's his MO. Win a few big publicity games and fold when nobody's watching.

Hey Josh, bama grad here. I think this is Aub's first loss AT HOME to a non-P5 opponent since '91. Lost to UCF in the Peach Bowl in 2017 (well, Jan 2018 but 2017 SEASON) which apparently was also the National Championship game! Cheers and Roll Tide!

According to Sports Reference, that win gave New Mexico State their second most wins in a season in school history. They could match their school record of 11 if they upset Liberty and win their bowl game.

Go Aggies, this win was a long time coming. NMSU has been at the bottom of division 1 football for as long as I can remember (at least 30 years), they even almost removed it from the university a few years back. Hopefully now with these new coaches this school can finally compete for years to come.

I knew when we allowed them to run out before our team. They were more aggressive even before the game. Pritchet shoulda gotten up and beat the shit out of their QB after he slamed him to the ground.

Honestly there really should be a rule in place especially after expanding the CFP to 12 teams, that cupcakes cant be scheduled after a certain week(probably the week before initial CFP rankings).

I saw the score this morning and initially thought it might be some kind of weird basketball score. Obviously not football. I'm not an Auburn alum, nor do I particularly care for the program. I'm an Aggie alum so, A) I feel some of their pain. 2) NMSU is group of 5, true, but they aren't garbage. They're 9-3 now. C) On the bright side, the "Aggies" beat Auburn twice this season! Whoop!

As a Bama fan the Crimson Tide is not taking the Iron Bowl lightly this Saturday. Regardless of records it normally is a tough game to play for state rights for one year in Alabama. So you can throw out what Auburn did against New Mexico State because they are a wounded dog looking for redemption right now. This year's Alabama team have been focused every since the loss to Texas in every game so I am not concerned about that in this game. What I am really concerned about is potential injuries sustained in the game that will affect the SEC Championship Game the following week against Georgia.

The problems started after the loss to a&m. Their offensive line allowed 7 sacks and 15 tackles for loss and they were not able to throw the ball at all. They relied to much on the running game. This stems from the fact that harsin and malzhan never recuirted an offensive lineman. Hate to break it for auburn fans but next few years are not going to be pleasant.

I don't believe Malzahn would of lost that game. I said they better not fire Gus unless they've got something better, and so far they haven't had anything better since they fired him. Just set the program back. I believe recruiting started slipping with Gus cause they were keeping him on the hot seat all the time. No kid wants to come there when a coach is on the hot seat every year.

The thing is that usually there’s some weirdness when people lose these games. Turnovers, missed FGs, some kinda crazy play like a ball bouncing off a helmet, etc. Generally the Power 5 team out plays the lower team but finds a way to lose. In this game NMSU jammed it down their throats in the 4th quarter. You shouldn’t be getting blown off the ball in the 4th quarter. There were no turnovers or craziness. NMSU just lined up and out manned Auburn for 4 straight quarters. That isn’t a talent gap issue. When you lose to UGA it’s a talent issue. This was prep and desire. That’s on the coach 🤷🏼

This is a lesson on the importance of the portal. Does this happen if Bo Nix is still at Auburn? Seems like if a few good players coming in can turn you around, a few players departing can be devastating.
