He went limp at 4:25...he let go at 4:22, the ref was STILL nowhere to be found. Props to Burkman for being able to let.go of that thing in the moment like that. As a fighter, you're supposed to hold it until you're broken up. So to have that wherewithal in the moment to let it go, might have saved Fitch's life. Scary stuff.

I’m surprised Adalaide Byrd didn’t give this fight to Fitch by unanimous decision !

He was in that choke, fully cranked for 9 seconds, from my count. They say it takes 8.5 seconds in that choke before you're out. The ref didn't even get close once he had his neck. As soon as he sunk his head in, the ref should've been all over it.

How do you see this one going down early on? Well, I think Fitch is gonna get choked out and Mazagatti is gonna be standing there wondering if he TiVo'd his favorite show or is thinking about his grocery list.

Thank god this fool isn’t a ref anymore. He’s made more bad calls, got more people hurt then any ref in MMA (next to Kim Winslow)

I don't see the issue here. You can see @ 3:47 Fitch picks up his left arm from the mat and places it under Burkman's right elbow. An unconscious person would not do that. At 3:49 Burchman starts to roll him over and lets go. Overall Mazzagati isn't a good ref but I don't think he should get hate here.

Most boss ass win and celebration. Josh was lucky Fitch was ALL the way out so quickly, I was remember watching this live thinking Fitch was gonna come to and bounce up and Mazzagatti would still let it continue lol

you know what's funny about this fight? Fitch had just been released by the UFC, which he now accuses of illegally buying up all the best talent in the MMA market. Obviously, PFL(then WSOF) had fighters who were better than some UFC fighters. So this horrific loss is proof that his lawsuit is bogus.

Thank God Burkman let go. Some fighters wouldn’t have noticed their opponent go limp because of the adrenaline rush and the noise in the arena. I suppose you have to pay extra attention when you have a guy like Steve as a ref, though.
