I came to this video after watching the more recent “Leaving The Faith” interview. Maybe it’s the way this podcast was filmed, the lighting/color, etc. but you can see in this video some differences in Joseph Solomon’s “appearance”/“posture” when he answers questions. He looks more “happy” or filled with more “joy”. It seems like he smiles more in this video as opposed to the more recent interview. Also, another observation the person interviewing Joseph, looks like the same “positive”, “happy” person in both interviews. It may not mean much but it was something that stood out. The last couple weeks, I’ve been doing my best to listen and understand Joseph’s perspective on his decision to no longer be a “Christian”, because it was kind of sad/confusing to hear that news. In the past, I used to listen to all his music covers, spoken word, perspective and breakdown on theological/Bible stuff, etc. One video he did on Philippians 1:6 that helped me understand that God will finish the work that He started in me and no matter how I feel, or decision I make, God is faithful to his promise, all the way to the end. I believe in eternal security and believe God is continuing to work in Joseph’s life and he is still saved. All things work together to them that love God and who are called according to His purpose. Thanks for both of the interviews! The conversation is definitely needed and will be been helpful in my approach in talking to those who may go through this!

i'll never understand why people would prefer that i be sadder now than before. a lot of "look at his eyes. you can tell he's hurt and troubled." i personally dont think there's a huge diff between the two interviews. but even if there was, if you watch enough videos from me, as a christian or even after, some videos i'm more somber than other days. that's just me. it's called humanity. most people aren't upbeat every single day of their life. maybe one day i am actually more contemplative or sad or whatever, or even just sleepy or low on energy. and other days i'm more "positive" and happy. these are short snapshots that yall try to create entire narratives from.

I dealt with doubt early in my Christian walk so I can relate then. Now I can’t say once I got solidified I have to say I never doubted again. Now I question stuff all the time the Bible is not “straightforward” at ALL. But my faith by God’s grace is rock solid. If it wasn’t for him idk where I’d be. I literally can’t afford to loose God. He and I we’ve got history, we go way way back! Shoutout to Maverick City for some solid truths!

“I have no safe place other than God in the midst of questions”...... THAT made me scream. It’s truly what I’ve been leaning in to. You have to trust that God is the answer in the midst of al your doubt. One thing I like to say is that God is absolute (Don’t get too technical with that). So we change our position relative to him, but he was and is and will be what he’s always been. Even in the midst of all our doubts.

Great podcast. And that’s coming from a person who hates listening to podcasts. The questions were very thought provoking and responses so raw and relatable. Thank you for this.

When he says we dont all truly know is sad. Obviously He doesnt know, but God makes us know with all confidence. The reason why he is struggling is because he still wants to "engage" the world. You're trying to be christian with the world in your rear view window. You need to do a study and prayer on double mindedness. The bible says this type of person is "unstable in all his ways". I will be praying for you that you "KNOW"

Don’t put your trust in man for man can’t say you. That is biblical. The great falling away, the turning wrong into right, brother vs brother, the days of Noah as the bible day people would be lovers of themselves is upon us. Go back and live for Jesus my brother because you will regret it. I urge you in Jesus name wake up
