Joseph Haydn - Symphony No. 6 in D, "Morning"

Музыка

Joseph Haydn (31 March 1732 - 31 May 1809), was an Austrian composer, one of the most prolific and prominent of the Classical period. He is often called the "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String Quartet" because of his important contributions to these forms. He was also instrumental in the development of the piano trio and in the evolution of sonata form.
A lifelong resident of Austria, Haydn spent much of his career as a court musician for the wealthy Esterházy family on their remote estate. Isolated from other composers and trends in music until the later part of his long life, he was, as he put it, "forced to become original". At the time of his death, he was one of the most celebrated composers in Europe.
Joseph Haydn was the brother of Michael Haydn, himself a highly regarded composer, and Johann Evangelist Haydn, a tenor. He was also a close friend of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a teacher of Ludwig van Beethoven.
Symphony No. 6 in D, "Morning":
I. Adagio - Allegro (0:00 - 5:54)
II. Adagio - Andante - Adagio (6:00 - 12:14)
III. Menuet and Trio (12:19 - 16:22)
IV. Finale: Allegro (16:27 - 21:08)
Performed by Musici di San Marco
Conductor: Alberto Lizzio

Do not ever be ashamed to listen to exactly the kind of music that you enjoy - whatever it is like. If someone else is not able to hear the beauty in something that you hear it in, it is their loss, not yours. And if it is any comfort, there are millions of us who can hear the beauty in classical music like you. We might not be a part of your daily life, but you are definitely not alone in this regard :) Stay true to what you enjoy, and enjoy it without any regrets or misgivings! Don't let others' negativity to put out the flame.

+bersa888 Let us put this way: if it wasn't for God, Haydn or anyone else for that matter couldn't have ever heard this music let alone put it to notes. Or in other words - Haydn put the notes into it, God put the music :)

  • @Totenkopfzwerg

    @Totenkopfzwerg

    8 жыл бұрын

+bersa888 Indeed, such is your opinion and view on the case, and I respect that. All one can hope for is equal respect in return, I suppose. My intent was not to belittle F.J. Haydn or his outstanding talent by any means. Certainly this music wouldn't have been realized without him, either. For me (or a person who believes in God and his ability to influence this "tangible" life, so to speak), Haydn is as important part as is God, regarding this particular case. I might have worded my thoughts in a misleading way, but I did not mean to write as if I was attributing all Haydn's creativity to the supernatural. It is quite obvious that humans are capable of creating art or anything they desire by themselves as well, without any a thought or even attempt to connect it with God. But from this viewpoint, a synergeia or "co-operation" between God and human is what yields the greatest result. That is to say - if allowed, God can magnify and make even more pristine that which a human creates. But then again, if one holds a belief in a personal God as "portrayed" in Judeo-Christian tradition, the Lord is the creator of everything that is tangible and everything that isn't tangible, which would mean that humans can only create autonomously with things and abilities that have been given to and breathed into them. As has been made evident by you, this is not a matter of fact or something that can be measured empirically or by physical criteria (I don't think I ever insinuated such, by the way...), but a matter of belief. But as also has been made evident by you, you don't hold such a belief yourself :) As said, one can only hope for mutual, equal respect for each other's thoughts and viewpoints.

Haydn said to Mozart's father Leopold, "Your son is the greatest composer known to me in person or by reputation" . Mozart and Haydn dedicated works to each other out of mutual respect but unfair to say Mozart learned everything from Haydn. He was a child prodigy and was taugh by Leopold.

Tim Penfield The quotation mentioned is one of the most famous comments made by one composer about another; Haydn’s understanding and appreciation of Mozart was as generous and perceptive as it was unselfish and heartfelt. Most of the rest of the comment is nonsense. Mozart’s one dedication to Haydn was the set of six ‘Haydn’ quartets; it was dedicated - with a beautiful introduction in Italian - to his great friend because he acknowledged how much he had learnt about quartet writing from Haydn, particularly his recent Opus 33 quartets; Haydn dedicated nothing to Mozart. Prodigy or not, Mozart absorbed and assimilated influences and learnt things everywhere he went; his friendship with Haydn developed and grew into perhaps the deepest musical friendship of all time because for Mozart, Haydn was the only contemporary composer of a comparable stature from whom he could learn anything. Mozart arguably learnt as much from Haydn as any other composer he met or teacher with whom he studied, the relationship between himself and JC Bach in London as an 8/9 year-old boy being an entirely different matter. Leopold’s teaching of Mozart as a boy was limited to little more than basics and the young Mozart quickly outgrew his father’s abilities. For sixteen months between 1764 and 1765, the young boy met JC Bach in London and this had a far greater impact on Mozart’s development than did Leopold who was more concerned with exhibiting his son as a child performer all around Europe. Beware of simplistic and generalised comments on KZread.

Ana Briones I cannot claim credit for myself from the images (well, in honesty there's nothing here in this video which would be my doing. I only hope to be a messenger of sorts, delivering the therapeutic impact of this wonderful music and images...) I just had the idea of collecting different images that would go with the "Morning" theme of the composition, so I decided to search the Internet for such, and those are the best (in my opinion) that I was able to find :) I'm glad if they bring you enjoyment in addition to the music!

I selected the "dislike option" because of the fruitless and unnecessary commercial that interrupted such a beautiful piece of music. Commercials could be included at the beginning or the end of the music; and perhaps between the movements if the advertising party is so desperate for a penny. Hope that people would differentiate between what is right and what is wrong.

I understand the annoyance caused by advertisements, but I certainly haven't intended for any to be included in this video, nor have I ever asked for such to be included here. Don't really know why KZread has chosen to put them here, but yeah... it is a shame.

You're welcome! I agree that the advertisements are a real nuisance. They didn't appear before when I had uploaded this video. I suppose KZread starts inserting advertisements into videos once a certain number of views has been reached... But sadly, I don't know any way how to block or remove them :(
