Ideal soloist! I must admit, that I’m always more impressed than touched by his playing, however he is still one of my favorites. His sound is absolutely incredible and he plays with a lot of culture.

It was maestro Yo Yo Ma who introduced this, one of the best cello numbers to me a few decades ago. Now it is Hornung who gives me a great delight and chill with the same elegance as that of Ma. I should've been there when he first visited Korea, playing Schumann.Wish he will make it again for Korean audience soon.

Maximilian Hornung, огромное спасибо за настоящее Музыкальное искусство. Никогда раньше не слышал, чтобы так красиво играли на виолончели. Самое лучшее исполнение концерта Гайдна в современности. Оркестр просто великолепный.

Who’s cadenza is it in the first mvt

Klingt sehr energisch - etwas scharf im Ton aber sehr virtuos - romantischer waere mir lieber... Im Alter aendert sich die Sichtweise... Viel Erfolg mit Haydn wünscht Heinz und Charlotte Mayr
