================
Joseph clearly brings to light the sometimes very difficult convoluted notion of emptiness. As the high Lama Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche says,”When you recognize the empty selfless nature of phenomena the energy to bring about the good of others dawns uncontrived and effortless.”
Joseph Goldstein has been leading insight and lovingkindness meditation retreats worldwide since 1974. He is a cofounder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, where he is one of the organization’s guiding teachers. In 1989, together with several other teachers and students of insight meditation, he helped establish the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies.

    This is an old talk given by Joseph Goldstein on the satipattana sutta. Check out the whole series on KZread. Really helped me a few years back when I was going through a very rough patch in life. His voice is so calming . He has strengthened my soul. Another recommendation is his talks with Sam Harris.

    Really we don’t need an explanation of what Joseph is going to say. He very well explains his own talk.

    Insight into lacking control, leads the self to observe what the necessary conditions are to get to the goal. Is that just another attempt to control?

    Given the topic, I see three points of contention that don't belong in the comments. Thank you, Raghu, for giving us the context to the history. There is so much to learn. I keep listening to all whom have been through this time in the connections they have had. I have gained so much from the Ram Dass videos. I keep listening to them. Now we have another person to learn. Thank you for bringing this to us.

    Why does this need a rambling, pointless 10 minute intro? Sounds like this guy just likes the sound of his own voice. 😹
