Heard Pezman was shopping around for another job...my speculation is UH admin found out and that was the final straw. It was going to happen one way or another

Maybe we should look at the success of SMU's record fundraising by AD Rick Hart or John Whittenburg, SMU's associate AD of development. See what blueprint they used to get local donations. They also have to compete with area professional sports for donations.

I liked Pezman as the AD, but outside of basketball and the track team the rest of the athletic department has underperformed. Kator and Fertita have shown a dedication and willingness to play the long game to build success. Honestly Pezman's best decision might have been hiring coach Fritz, but that just might be a case of too little too late.

I thought UH had a good season. New conference with more revenue, new football coach, and the basketball team won the conference in their first season in the Big 12. I would had given him another year. Fund raising at UH is what it is…when I was a student in 90s, and Ŧech was in the SWC when I spoke with students who were from Houston I would ask why the UH stadium was always empty, they would say UH was mainly a commuter school. If that is still the same, a large portion of the students are focused on their degree, not the college experience.

And ofc there are idiots who talk as if they know everything in the comments section. If y’all knew so much then why aren’t y’all in a position to make changes like being UH’s new AD?

well lack of fundraising,, women's softball debacle, Holgorsen's contract extension and baseball coach's contract extension probably were the tip of the ice berg. Pezman was way over his head.

@@alfredmatthews1746 I'm pretty sure they love Mack Rhodes. They just finished their state of the art $212 million basketball arena. They won a National title in mbb recently. They're consistently a top 10 caliber mbb program under Rhodes. Football had a major dropoff, but Dave Aranda did win win the Big 12 since the whole scandal. The Matt Rhule hire was his doing too, who brought the program back to life since the gutting. All in all he's an exceptional AD that has managed to accomplish a lot for a small private school in Waco. He was great at Houston too. He literally hired the major piece that got us into the Big 12, in the Sampson family. Kelvin Sampson is a fan of him, and that should say a lot. No doubt in my mind he's one of the best ADs in the country.

We had an outage and there appears to be an issue with the 3-4 blocks around and including our building. Power went out at 1235pm on Friday, back up 130, back down at 235 and we were able to get the show up and running by 325pm. Totally out of our control...and believe me it's very frustrating.
