There were no rich sugar daddies in Porto. The players were unknowns and Mourinho had never really coached before. Like he said in an interview " Porto was a team of kids coached by a kid." I know his weakness - its emotional - lack of loyalty, love and respect from his team. If he has loyalty love and respect from those players he will conquer all.

So what if it was the Portuguese League? What does that mean? I think it adds more weight to what he accomplished with Porto. A team that compared to the bigger teams they beat was not as wealthy or powerful. A team that won the European trophies with players that were virtually unknown. No superstars just a lot of hard work and brillian football. As for Mourinho being the special one yeah he is. It is not just one game that has made him thus.

Who cares? He still knew who to buy and who to let go. He didn't spend that money in vain. He got results. Besides for the clubs he has coached that kind of money is peanuts. Someone said he won the the treble at Inter because he spent a lot of money over two years to do it, that any manager could have done the same if they could spend that kind of money. So why hasn't PSG done it? Real Madrid (which he managed himself)? Manchester City? Chelsea? They splash cash every season too. So clearly, having lots of money to spend is not everything. As David Moyes will find out soon. Love him, but he's not winning the treble this year despite United's available resources.
