@Bee Hates You If you wanted to compete for top dollar and if your intent was to lead the league in homeruns, you did PED's. Simple as that and that includes Thomas and Thome. It just comes down to who was caught and who wasn't. They couldn't nail everyone.

Pete Rose is one of the greatest baseball players who ever lived. He doesn't need the hall of fame to validate that. His numbers speak for themselves. Side note: The '76 Reds were the greatest baseball team of all-time.

I was a young teenager when my cousin married Joel Youngblood who went on to play with this great Reds team. He gave me an autographed ball with the whole team on it, including Rose. Youngblood was not a star player but he is the only player in MLB to have a hit with two different teams on the same day.

this was great... I have really come to be a fan of Jose, I feel for the guy. I have seen him at many Senior Softball Tourneys as we have passed each other, I hope to see him again so I can go up to him and meet him personally and BUMP elbows these days !! and tell him I support him for what he did, and yes, he in FACT has been BLACKBALLED from any baseball, all for coming out in the end and trying to straighten out a corrupt game and protect it really, but the MLB, and I guess many players disgraced him for it.. Frank Thomas, you are a stand up guy... Pete is Pete, that's a tough one there ? his numbers alone define he SHOULD be in the HOF, but as any MLB player will tell you, theres a sign in every locker room stating that there will be NO BETTING on baseball.... the boys might be right as time goes on regarding that ? time will tell ? but the FACT is, the MLB only wants to protect its own image and TRY to act pure and honest, when they have as much corruption , controversy and scandals as anybody.. all you have to do is look at the Houston Astro scandal recently, they tried to sweep that under the rug as fast as possible, and it only goes to one thing, MONEY.. Jose, I always hope you hang in there, yeah, you have made some mistakes, and at some point finally get the respect you just might deserve as a lot of people are hypocrites... hopefully, I'll run across you !!!

If I owned a professional baseball team (which will never happen unless I win the Powerball), but if I did, Jose Canseco would have a job as a hitting coach on my team. Steroids or not, he was one of the purest power hitters to ever play the game. There are many fine points of hitting that are locked in that guy's head that could be passed along to developing players or even players who are already at the MLB level. What a waste. All because he wrote a book that told the truth.

From everything I understand Pete Rose was gambling as a manager, as he bet on his Reds to win numerous games. As a manager, Pete was not in the same category of the current Hall of Fame Managers. As a manager no way should Pete get in. Pete was NEVER accused of gambling as a player. Pete Rose was one of the GREATEST players to EVER play the game. He did NOT gamble as a player. Pete Rose 100% deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame as a player. The All Time Hit Leader 100% deserves this honor.

I never said he was a bad manager. I just said he was not a Hall of Fame manager. He should be 100% in the Hall of Fame as a PLAYER. As a player he’s an icon. He didn’t break any rules when he was a player. He should be in.
