Am 07.08.2022 überraschte Joscho Stephan mit seinem Trio wieder seine Fans: Zum einen mit dem Gast Paulus Schäfer, ebenfalls namhafter Spitzengitarrist, sowie seiner Instrumentenwahl. Bei einigen Stücken nahm er eine Telecaster in die Hand und spielte wie hier den Lulu Swing elektrisch.
Eine ungewöhnliche Klangfarbe, die durch sein geniales Spiel das Publikum begeisterte. Wieder ein besonderer Abend im AudimaGH`s by Gartenheim, in Kooperation mit dem Jazz Club Hannover.
Again a surprising evening with Joscho Stephan and his Trio. The unexpected special guest Paulus Schäfer was a great add on and further Joscho played some songs on his Telecaster, like the Lulu Swing. For this kind of music a very unsual sound, but the audience got excited about the great electric guitar skills Joscho showed of.

With this axe Joscho sounds a lot like western-swing player Jimmy Bryant, one of the very first tele-virtuosos in the early 50's, who gained some popularity in the "just-before-rock-n-roll-era".

Great jam session gypsy jazz style. So Joscho Stephan wondering if you are planning to play gypsy jazz on a Gibson Les Paul or a Fender Stratocaster. We shall see.
Those chord changes are more sophisticated and elegant than what you see in the chart. Killer. Who is the soloist on the acoustic?

The Telecaster has it's place and unfortunately it is not in the Gypsy genre. I don't know what Joshco was thinking, he could play a toaster and make it sound better than this Fender.

Are you kidding? This sounds pretty awesome. Slightly fuller tone than on an acoustic, and Joscho still has that typical Gipsy vibrato.
