People trash maradona for his “character “ but he was a great sport as well as a leader. Not to mention arguably the most skilled player ever who didn’t mind getting stuck in on a challenge when his team needed him to, or hounding defenders when they had the ball making them panic.

Great compliation. This guy an absolute legend, one of the best ever. Not just one of the greatest goalkeepers but one of the greatest footballers. Unforgettable.

I remembered the perspiration on forehead of barthez when the match was leveled, unfortunately france won that match but this goal keeper is the best goal keeper i have ever watched. Guarda redes enorme, na década de 90 para mim na América do Sul ele era o rei e o Michel Preudhomme na Europa, bem sei que eram estilos opostos, não jogaram em super clubes mundiais, mas o que este homem fez no mundial de França, na Libertadores contra o São Paulo e na Intercontinental em 94 foi surreal, diria o mesmo para o Preudhomme que no pior Benfica da história com 40 anos vi ele fazer defesas aqui em Portugal que o Schmeichel com mais de 35 quando passou por cá nem sonhava, e eu sou sportinguista.

Sin duda un gran portero de la decada de los 90 entre los tres mejores del mundo crak y leyenda.

It was a real shame no big European teams came for him. Nowadays the trend is goalkeepers playing from the back and good on the ball set by Pep Guardiola just imagine if Chilavert was around today. I have to put this guy as my all-time top 2 goalkeepers, the other one being Schumacher.
