Yeah. I also like how she said she knew Valeri before Nastia did. Basically "I knew your dad before you were born".

Shannon looks amazing. Reminds me of Leslie Mann. Nastia looks awesome as well. Hard to believe these are the same little girls I watched at the Olympics. Talk about growing up to be knockouts.

Hmm, interesting that the description introduces Jordyn as just an Olympic gold medal winner, while Nastia is introduced as a World and Olympic Champion. Why not introduce both as World and Olympic Gold Medalists?

Well hell, she is a lot older. Her glory days at the Olympics was 1992 and 1996. I saw her in person at Atlanta and she was a little girl. Now she's the mother of 2 and a ovarian cancer survivor and chemotherapy. That changes everybody.

The men and women in the NCAA have different rules. The men are allowed to compete in both NCAA and on the national team AT THE SAME TIME!! But the women aren't allowed to do the same!! The women have more rules in the NCAA than the men and I think that's sexist and way fucked up!!

Yikes, maybe it's because shannon is 42 and a professional announcer and the other two are in their 20's and were nervous? It's crazy how many commenters just love to criticize and hate any chance they get....

Gym Style Yes,However if a gymnast performs a great routine, and only has a very minor flaw he will always Harp and comment on it. Also, I am happy Tim Ryan is doing play by play of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal Quebec, Canada. He is a true professional, and I have witnessed his announceing since the 1970's when he did NHL Hockey.

I have no sympathy for Jordyn Wieber. She knew the NCAA rules, and still took advertising endorsment dollars. Jordyn should have hired a lawyer instead of going to Mrs. Val,if she wanted to challenge the NCAA. I also, have very little sympathy with Nastia Lukin for not going to London. She never should have taken three years off,and had less than a year to train!

Nastia wasn't even training that long. She was also told by Marta to stay home from the camps but she forced Alicia and Bridget to go. Nastia was told she would be on the team if she got an UB routine and hit it and when she fell they couldn't cheat to get her on the team.

Michael Silverman so you have sympathy for the girl who took years off and wasn’t able to go to the olympics because of it, but u don’t have sympathy who can’t continue the sport she loves because of stupid rules.

uni corn21 The bottom line is Jordyn Wieber, and Nastia Lukin knew what was at stake in their individual situations. They are both intelligent young women, but made critical mistakes that kept them from achieving their goals in gymnastics.

I don't think the rule is stupid. Jordyn turned pro and got lots of money out of it to train, while most NCAA athletes can only rely on their college scholarship. It would be unfair for Jordyn to compete in NCAA. You need to realize that being unable to compete in NCAA does not mean she cannot continue the sport. Jordyn always had the option to continue the sport and compete as an elite. Even if she retired, she can always train at a local gym to continue her love for the sport. However, she was just not for NCAA and NCAA does not equal elite gymnastics.

Fuck most of the coaches. The gymnasts iron willpower and hard work and raw talent and the tons of money they paid that coach is responsible for their success.
