My brother coached J. Whittington during his magical 2018 senior year @ Cuero HS in South Texas. That season I twice flew down from California to Texas to see Cuero play four times. Including the state title game v Pleasant Grove when JW had an absolute electrifying performance 🔥🔥 He has great instincts, tenacity, awareness, savvy and football IQ.

Feels like I’m watching Puka in a Texas uniform. Very similar play style.
Absolutely has the stuff to be a nfl starter! Catches with his hands and dominant against zone coverage. He plays hard and smart. I hope the Lions have eyes on him!

@@match328 I wasn’t hoping he would be drafted by the 49ers..just seemed to fit their scheme. I’m happy he landed with mcvay tho, he could shock a lot of people this year.

Definitely looks like a good runner after the catch. Also looks like he uses his hands to make the catch and runs smooth routs. Stafford will definitely find this guy on 3rd and long.

First and foremost, this guy’s a football player. Pay attention to all of their fake screens and play actions, the separation is coming from Whittington’s patience and his willingness to block. Those DB’s all reacted to his fake stalk because his real one is effective. Cont.

He also sits down in zones well. He doesn’t over run zones and he gets north and south and uses his angles well. Whittington looks like the real deal
Would be a great check down guy for Will Levis.
361 in the building. More than likely a Free agent pick up but if he runs low 4.4 can sneak in 6th round
