Jordan Spieth wins at Royal Birkdale | The Open Official Film 2017

Спорт

Jordan Spieth showed remarkable resilience and skill to bounce back from a poor start to his final round in The 146th Open at Royal Birkdale and secure a victory that ensured he joined the pantheon of Champion Golfers of the Year.
A record-breaking crowd of 235,000 spectators were enthralled by events at Royal Birkdale, as Spieth moved to within one win of a grand slam of majors and, by the age of 23, had the Masters, the US Open and The Open crowns to his name.

Another beautifully presented open by the Open channel, i really enjoyed every minute of it. Royal Birkdale is such a good course, imaculate as always, credit to the greenkeepers for what they do. Speith's eagle on 15 was huge, i give a lot of credit to jordan speith mentioning michael greller in his acceptance speach. I think as michael said in a little clip, what happened on 12 at Augusta basically he was trying not to let that happen again. Jordan gathered himself after that wayword drive to make a brilliant putt for bogey. Huge moment that and then following that up with eagle at 15 is just huge. And Michael will have contributed alot to jordans state of mind at that point. Credit to matt kucher in his efforts in the final day. Was in the lead then out of the lead, but a brilliant open and what i would give to have my name incribed on that beautiful Claret Jug, history. And it has to be earned. Love these open segments this channel is putting out. Hope it continues and you are able to get every open since the 70's on it. Im writing this in 2021. That would be 50 years of opens. I would like to see 1989 and mark calcavechia's win at Royal Troon, the open at Royal Birkdale whare it came down to Ian baker finch and John cook. Keep these wonderful video's coming The Open.

Naaa....the guy is just 27, and his game is taylormade for Augusta. He would find magic and win the Masters a couple of more times, and maybe another major. If he is able to win a fourth Major in the next 5 years, i think Jordan can go on to win between 6 to 8 majors, just like Koepka (the modern day incarnation of Nick Faldo) will win at least 6 majors.

No one deserved this more than Spieth. The pressures of leading start to finish. The 69 in the second round in atrocious conditions. The psychological damage of a block so severe on 13 (not even the members knew the shot from over the dunes), and finally trailing by 1 to play the final 5 holes in 5 under....

I still have trouble believing/reminding myself that Branden Grace's 62 really did happen in this one. Given all the freakish, near-supernatural ways a lot of 63s in major championships ended, I genuinely thought it was a completely forbidden score no one (no man, at least) would ever manage to shoot in majors. Too bad it became a footnote, because Jordan ALSO decided to dive into freakish, near-supernatural territory on Day 4.
