Jordan is a 19-year-old college sophomore currently playing golf for Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA, looking to expand his skills and experience at a 4-year university in the Fall 2024. Prior to his 4 years of varsity golf at Newport Harbor High School, Newport Beach, CA, he played competitively in the Junior Developmental Tour of the Southern California PGA.
Jordan has been obsessed with golf since he was 3, and it's become an essential aspect of his life. Whether it's the calmness of the course, the challenge of developing his skills, or the companionship with other golfers, there's something truly unique about how he views the game.
Golf is a voyage of self-discovery and continuous progress for Jordan, motivating him to play. The combination of mental focus, precision, and being outside drew him to the sport. The challenge of mastering all aspects of the game, from finding that perfect swing to having top-tier course management, keeps him interested and motivated.
One of the things Jordan enjoys most about golf is the rare combination of seclusion and socialization. The tranquil moments on the course, surrounded by nature, provide a mental break from the stresses of everyday life. At the same time, the camaraderie between friends or fellow golfers during a round provides a social component to each game, making it memorable.
Golf has been an ongoing process of skill development for him. Every improvement, from the early battles to making consistent contact with the ball to refining his short game, brings him personal joy. The sport's ongoing challenge inspires him to push himself and seek continuous improvement.
Reflecting back on his golfing career, he can recall innumerable great occasions, from setting a school record back in high school to being a two-time coach’s award winner to making his first hole-in-one in college. He is very proud of all these achievements and is looking to further broaden his resume in the coming years.
Jordan is considered an exemplary team player and will be an asset to any golf team. His current and previous golf coaches will attest to his contributions on and off the course, given his positive attitude, bright smile, and laid-back personality.
