Unbelievable. Burroughs, if you see this, you are a hero to me. One of the toughest things in this world-- wrestling and you have owned it. You just made a 4X NCAA champ who has dedicated every moment for the last year to beating you look like a middle schooler wrestling a high schooler. Amazing

Jordan Burroughs is a class act and wonderful wrestler. Hard to match his combination of speed and strength.

Hey that's wrestling! As soon as the whistle blows anything goes. Lightning fast move by Burroughs and impressive that he was able to complete that many turns! But dominant victory for Burroughs

If Kyle can't beat Jordan at next years trials he should move down to 70kg in 2017.

travis johnson I think he wants a shot at the 2016 Olympics and 70kg isn't an olympic weight class. Other than an injury slowing Jordan down I don't think Kyle has what it takes to beat him 2 out of 3 times.

+VoodooChild2000 , yeah the 70 kg (154 lb) is a non-Olympic class, ...the next class down is 65 kg (143 lb). Its pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Why Olympics goes from 163 lb. all the way down to 143 lb. is silly.

We better prepare for Iran and Russia...and i. Think this is the first start that was true freestyle wrestling that jordan displayed getting up 8-0. We need that from all of our USA wrestlers, cause thats all Iran and Russia do; get on a leg quickly take them down, then turn after turn after turn. Thats what USA should be working but were so used to folkstyle wrestling that our freestyle is sorta weak

If Burroughs doesn't get the initial cheap takedown, if he doesn't get the 3 consecutive cheap leg laces, if he doesn't get the cheap 4 point move, and finally, if he doesn't get the cheap final takedown, Dake wins this match easily. 🐴

How do leg laces work? And how did Burroughs win in the end? I'm in my 2nd year of wrestling so don't know everything but if someone could explain that would be great.

  • @wrestlingscience

Doubts Bro leg laces work by applying so much pressure to the opponents legs and hips that they have almost no choice than to give up the position and let you roll them because of how painful it can be. Its like fighting a half nelson but from your lower body, resisting it hurts so much that its hard not to give up and go with the momentum. In freestyle wrestling, which works a little differently than what you probably do in school, rolling an opponent and exposing there back gives you 2 points, no matter how brief the exposure is. In this video JB rolled Dake 4 times, giving him a total of 8 points.

+Shawn-I saw it on the original feed and I replayed the video to confirm it. He was in shooting motion before the ref blew the whistle and literally a split second after shaking hands. He saw that Dake was dejected and timed his shot to try to jump the whistle. It was smart. No ref would call it and Dake is as much to blame.
