    When you’re doing the edges and make accidentally get paint somewhere you didn’t mean to, how do you go about fixing it?

  • @soleconcern

    @soleconcern

    Жыл бұрын

    Great question! Paint and dye are both different when it comes to clean up - angelus paint is water based so you could essentially use a cotton round and water or alcohol, for the dye you may need something stronger like the alcohol or acetone but make sure not to overdo either of those because you could damage the leather!

  • @soleconcern

    @soleconcern

    The first go around I used the Angelus leather dye to get a nice base coat (any parts in the video with the ball brush or q-tips) and then once that was dry I went back and put 3-4 coats of black angelus paint (any parts in the video with a paint brush). Let me know if this cleared things up!

    I found heat always helps the drying process the best, but with that being said I’ve never tested otherwise so im not 100% on that. Im sure it will still help and work better than air drying🤝

    Only thing you didn’t touch on, which is arguably the only step that isn’t self-explanatory, is how you painted/dyed the edges of each panel. Did you delicately tape off each panel and then run the brush along the edges? Was there any spilling under the tape? This is the only reason i find customs difficult to do and you didn’t say how you did it.

  • @soleconcern

    @soleconcern

    Жыл бұрын

    Great point! Unfortunately for my video when I was doing that part the shots weren’t good :( But to answer your question, I used a super thin tip paint brush where I carefully went around every edge using the dye. I would definitely recommend using tape, but still be careful not to use too much dye/be sloppy as it could bleed under and cause extra problems. Hopefully this helps! 🤝
