When I said that Jooheon was unpredictable and that he is capable of doing crazy charismatic raps to then switch to a more ballad/rnb genre super easily and didn't think it would be applied so literally for Freedom hahaha The switches take you by surprise for sure and the duality that he is portraying here is incredible and speaks volume on his artistry! I think because he feels this song so deeply and shares his transparant with his emotions here, we as an audience get to feel that as well. It also feels like he really did everything he wanted to do with this release, talk about him and get to showcase his skills, his true self etc. And because of that, I can't help but feel incredibly proud and happy for him!
While I might not be in love with the song, I do enjoy parts of it. I think I might have to get used to this crazy duality but other than that wow! Just wow!

He did it. He said he was gonna do it and he did it. My baby. The love of my life. My precious angel. He created the best song and MV. As sexy as he himself is. It is so abrasive and augmented sonically, yet remains so soulful thru and thru. My beautiful tiger.

Phenomenal performance. Mind blowing. Insane production. Joohoney is an EPIC producer and a musical genius. He’s my ult of Ults and this is SOTY for real. There’s only a few contenders left to present music this year that could compete...Taeyong,TaeMin, JK, and GD. But so far this tops everything I’ve heard.

I love it! It's so fun and crazy and unpredictable and it really feels like the song itself embodies freedom because it is not confined to one thing, one genre, one visual style. The song is so creative and outside the box and shows his versatility so well. It is also very powerful and has that epicness that makes kpop so damn good. Love it!
I can relate to your talk. You got that right! He isnt even my bias but dang when he performs live? He devours. He is built to perform. He was the reason why i was drawn to MX.

I feel like Joohoney has reached a new level of wisdom and he's sharing it with us. He's been through so much and seeing him come out of the darkness (Smoky in black and white) into this colorful video, talking about all the colors he has inside of him, finally ending in all white hope, reflecting the light back to the people surrounding him (MonBebe, MonstaX) literally being THE LIGHT. The star The bars being bars is god-tier writing. But also that growling was just SEXY AF, right Jas'?! JOOHONEY 100!
Him shouting freedom at the beginning really fills me with energy. I REALLY like the dance break because like you said, its like a call to arm, where he is preparing an army and getting ready to wage war. Honestly, after listening to this song, it just cement him as my ult of ult. he is the standard and the anchor on deciding who am i gonna bias..
He basically said, "I can do anything I want and make it sound good." The song bounced between at least 3 different genres, yet it flowed seamlessly. The guy has an incredibly unique sound and a talent to express it...most artists spend their whole lives working on trying to get what is in their mind out into physical reality, and Jooheon can already do it. Great song. Great video.

The song is so good. I mean a rapper singing the majority of the song. That's why I stan Monsta X :)
If I didn't know better, I would have assumed Jooheon and Jimin are very close friends & partners in producing and song writing, because FREEDOM and SET ME FREE, while sounding disctinctly different from each other, are thematically and structurally quite comparable and compatible imo. It is almost like the two artists worked on those songs together to convey a similar message. Both songs are relatively disjointed and highly experimental. There is a bigness to both of them, yet still manage to feel very personal. It is a weird similarity out of the blue. I guess great minds do indeed think alike.

Jooheon is his own genera that man does it all! It’s incredible stanning such a killer artist that just says meh fuck it, I’m gonna try it and I don’t care about the trends and when he does the thing it is amazing and always sends my soul to amazing heights
