Depression grows the more you try to deal with it on your own. Just giving yourself at least one shoulder to lean on by speaking out can make the world of a difference to you and others around you, so speak up and talk about it for you as well your friends and family ❤️

Absolutely. But its hard....Its So hard to tell the people that love you that you suffer. Its ironic but its the hardest thing to do , is tell the people that love you the most that youre troubled. You dont want to seem "weak" , you dont want to seem powerless. You want to put the face on because you love them so much and you dont want them to think less of you.

JonnyUnderrated I couldn't agree more, by thinking that you would look "weak" by saying your not 100% and suffering from mental illness to your family but what I guess they need to understand is that it only makes you stronger by being able to do what most people wouldn't and just talk about it with them

life is always going to be hard, that's why you are here. There is always a purpose of everything, whether its something you say, something you touch or something you do. Sometime's not thinking at all is bliss... center yourself.... breath and live the moment.. its all good...your not weak.. your here adding value with your existence....

I've been in hos position. I know how hard it is to talk to anyone, let alone try to front on a national show. Good on Jono for speaking out, it just shows it can happen to anyone at anytime. talking to someone is only one step, we should never be afraid to ask "are you ok" to someone you think is suffering.

my dad and stepmum believed i didnt have anxiety or depression but a "situational melancholy with a woe is me attitude" which just happened to be consist every week (so obviously a just a phase) So good when the people you have around you understand and support you.... There are organisations that help give you the tools to manage, prevent, protect emotions and situations from having such big impacts on you, as well as listening to you earnestly, who want to help, they dont see a problem, they will see your strengths, what foundations you already have in place and just help you grow into the person you want to be. Please reach out, Connecting is the biggest thing you can do during this time when all you want to do is be swallowed up and isolated.

Depression among men is unfair. Because we are meant to be strong. If we look depressed it makes us look weak, if we look weak then we feel inadequate. So we brush it aside and don't seek help. I'm going through what I think is depression. You see I've had visitations with my daughter ceased all because her caregiver, who is her aunt, doesn't like me. The mother of my child won't help, the law won't help me, nobody will help me. Nobody fucking cares because as far as they care I'm just the fuckwit who donated sperm. So I struggle day to day constantly being sad, then happy thinking of my daughter, then depressed that I may never see her again, then I get a little happy thinking there's a chance. The emotions go up and down and it's killing me and nobody cares. And thus my days continue in that cycle and nobody cares

No reason to deny you seeing your daughter, make it your mission to fight to see her and have her in your life, that will give you a purpose, and please seek help, talk to your GP, meds are there to help when feeling down or even just counselling at first, good luck in all and God bless

depression is NOT some "philosophical illness" - the *medical* (and by this I mean doctors - your mainstream everyday doctor) - knows this - depression is a *chemical imbalance in your brain* - it's not some 'airy fairy' hippy 'oh I feel sad so I must be depressed' see your reaction is exactly why there is still such a stigma about people who are truly suffering from this don't talk about it and are reluctance to seek help - especially men I can understand why it looks like "everything suddenly turned into "depression"" - there is a growing understanding of what depression is and what a huge impact it can have on lives (hence this video!) - not 'magic' just more awareness and understanding - which is a good thing

5mths after having my baby, I noticed a difference with myself. despite having a baby, which doctors said I couldn't.. I wasn't happy. I looked after my baby and husband the best I could until I snapped and told my husband I don't feel anything for anyone anymore. we seeked help, called depression hotlines and u know what they told me? dickheads said I was bored, and I'm not depressed.. my gp at the time just said the same thing not taking into account post natal depression. 6yrs later I'm here struggling to find what the point of life is. my new doctor says I have post natal depression that went undiagnosed. I finally have help because I want to help myself out the years-deep hole I was trapped in. I don't want anyone to pity me or tell me "your strong you can do this" coz to be honest, that means jack shit to me.. I'm sharing my story coz the help organizations out there for depression need to get their facts right. I was suicidal and had given up on my self.. having some lady and an ill-informed gp 6yrs ago tell me I'm not depressed because my symptoms didn't match what they had on the database made me feel rejected, and discouraged and utterly foolish for some reason, and was reason enough to stop me from seeking further help. I knew there was something wrong with me mentally.

Aurora Trent your natal depression isn't a stand alone thing, I'm not familiar with those services myself and I haven't given birth but that "hole" is deep and it could most probably be that lack of numbers that made you feel even more alone (not to mention that your symptoms were not on the systems database) even people could connect with other people more often then teamwork could be used to get out of the ugly hole.

The worst part about society is that feminists who are seen as the heroes in our society by most media and adults would be absolutely disgusted in this video because it's about a man telling other people that they are fine how they are. I find that really sad myself
