I first heard, saw on TV, this kid at 16! Blew me away!!! He still does! Hadn't seen much lately until last night 2/17/2024 on my local PBS station with Buddy Guy!! So happy to see him again & watching the 2 of them was like being in on a jam session where they were having so much fun!! Incredible blues, shredding those guitars & vocals!! I'm guessing you can find it on PBS somewhere under Buddy Guy. 🤩😁❤

What the fuck does that even mean? It's blues, blues never gets old, blues transcends all time. It's not some fucking pop tune that should have got old and tired a long time ago, it's motherfuking blues, good blues will always be listened to no matter what no matter what time no matter what year no matter what century no matter what planet blues will never get old. 👍 I’m just about 70 and just saw this video today. It blew me away, as did watching Derek Trucks play 🎸 in his early teens did! * He also looked like he just walked off the farm too!

Everyone on stage is a total professional. They all do a Great job. But that backup singer is beyond amazing.

U know he had to be raised in or very near a black neighborhood with black friends. That is where the SOUL came from. Because he wasn't born singing or playing music that way. U learn that from exposure to that culture.

I saw Jonny Lang around this time at the old Grand Emporium in Kansas City. Standing room for 300. My ears rang for three days. My smile lasted at least that long.

Saw this young man in 1997 in Richardson, Texas at the annual Wildflower Festival and he blew the doors off and he was only 17 years old. Quite an amazing talent!!! Not enough credit!!

It's 2020, and I still LOVE JOHNNY LANG AND THE BAND!!!

It's 2021 and Jonny may never sing again. He's got voice issues that may have caused permanent damage. He cancelled all of his 2021 shows to recover.

I do understand Lisa yes. I saw him in concert years ago. Live is just as good as the cd. That night screaming was very loud. Mostly everyone was up on their feet all the night. That night though I had a bad leg and could only stand up a little while. hahahaha Love the concert. Yes!

That guy sitting quietly back in the corner playing keyboards wrote this song..... Bruce McCabe. I've seen him quite a few times playing with the Lamont Cranston Band out of Minneapolis. He wrote a couple of other Johnny Lang songs also.

I am 31 years old and the fact I've been listening to Jonny Lang since I was 7 actually blows my mind. I can not wait to see him perform live again one day

17 with a voice of 45 and a guitar talent for blues like Clapton and many other greats. Love his music. Being young he got rapped in the drug scene but has since found the the lord and was able to come back and become one of the best. Amazing voice and guitar.

Been following Jonny since the beginning. Finally got to see him about 3 years ago touring with Buddy Guy. That was a night to remember. Awesome talent that young man.

A powerful performance by a talented guy - very impressive to be that accomplished at 16 - 17 years of age.

I'm loving this talent

My favorite song by Jonny Lang is Still Rainin. I first was introduced to his music by watching PBS' Austin City Limits. Then I saw him in concert in the ATL years later. I just had to go to that concert. Purchase two cds after watching him in concert. Cherry Red Wine and the Levee are my two other favorites. He can play that guitar and the music goes all through him.

He was definitely the most talented 16 years old singer/artist ever.

Amazing, had no idea he started that young like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and just as talented. Got to see them together on the Experiece Hendrix Tour.

I saw him playing on Beale St. in Memphis Tenn. at BB Kings place I believe he was only 13 at that time and was just as good then.... Awesome performer with MASSIVE TALENT...

Lead singing in bars when he was like 11 or 12 with Mike and the Monsters, whom were very good in their own right...He's pretty good

The whole band is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maturity in so many different ways, and dedication to music. He got me hooked, and I still am.

To think that just four years after first picking up a guitar this guy was absolutely killing it on the stages that most artists can only dream about performing on. Talk about a gift!

I love Johnny Lang, great musician and this Fender-Tone is just legendary

Johnny is one of the best, if not the best, blues guitarist and singers in the modern era. He is so underrated. He has continuously put out fantastic music for over 20 yrs now. Having the honor of hearing him perform live is an experience. It's never the same way twice. I have seen him 3 times now and I will be seeing him again next year when he comes through Atlanta.

I saw them twice at the New Orleans House of Blues. Each time I was smiling for weeks. Great shows.

First saw Jonny Lang in Duluth, Mn. at a place called Grandma's Sports Garden when he was just getting started and have been a fan ever since.

This is the version I like best; tons of heart 'n' soul. Sing it, sweet spirit, sing it, oh yeah.

Unbelievable at his voice 16 yes old and can sing a song and play a guitar like Jonny does is a talent that very few has just can't stop listening to him he can belt a blues song as good or better then anyone that I've ever heard

Incredibly talented… but what really blows me away is having the gusto to go out, at that age, live on national TV in front of a live audience… and just destroy it! It’s something 99.9% of people just don’t have in em. It makes me laugh it’s so surreal. Johnny is still kicking it too and doing great, and hasn’t “sold out” which is also great to see!

There used to be a file-sharing service called AudioGalaxy, from which I used to listen to stuff, about 19 or so years ago. I heard an unbelievable version of Robert Johnson's 'Malted Milk' on it, by an act called 'Jonny Lang and The Big Bang', from an EP (I think) called 'Smokin'. Little did I then know that it was being performed by a 13-14 year-old Jonny Lang. It was just brilliant! Been a fan ever since.

Saw him on the Jimi Hendrix Experience tour...real deal

Yeah that was great. Jonny you need to put that type of performance back into it. As time goes on, we seem to lose some of the drive. That was GREAT.

Shit, who can rock the blues like this at 16 years old? Wow, I've always liked this guy, even back then. In 1997 I was like 12 and I loved it when this song came on the radio when it did. This guy can rock and he really gets into it. Wish he had a bigger career though. John Mayer came out a few years later and ended up being well, John Mayer. Honestly, I like John Mayer but I've always been more partial to Jonny Lang's music. It's more raw to me and the way he brings it is just awesome.

Got to see him in concert on Kauai. He sure can rock. 💙
