When my wife was three times in surgery in hospital due to lung cancer, there were no friends with me in the waiting room of the hospital. I did not even miss that. But there were lots of friends far away praying. And most of all God's presence was there with us all the time in that hospital. A great experience that was way more impressive than the whole cancer problem. Praise to God.

I’ll never forget the first time I heard this. Tears running down my face. I do intercessory prayer ministry ever since I came back to faith in 2000. When you’re praying for people in deep pain, it helps to meditate on the kind of God we serve. Dorothy Sayers had said, “before you consider the problem of evil, you must first understand this truth, God took His own medicine.” Shalom Aleichem

I keep coming back to this video. People don't show up anymore especially for the disabled homebound. They only show up if you are physically able to still attend church. It's become very sad. The Bible teaches being their for others not just the ones you already love. Christians are not supposed to let other Christians become isolated. They don't even offer a ride when they drive right past the persons home on their way to church and Bible Study. Joni's message is being taught by Pastors across the nation, but the congregations still won't act on it. So what I want to ask of every Holy Spirit filled Christian is when they gather in Jesus name to please pray that people will be moved to reach out of their comfort zone and show up for those in need of relationships, caring, being remembered, a ride to and from Church. Please can we make this a movement in all Churches across the U.S.A, and world? Like Joni said relationships are what helps people heal most!

Kristey H Not verse, but verseS. Then you read about all the CURSES God gave in the OT! Many Christians think that sickness is a blessing...horrible!!! Jesus bore not only our sins and sickneses but became‼️❤️ it all AND BECAME a curse for us, 2Cor5:21. God is GOOD, the devil id BAD. What is good comes from God, what is bad comes from the devil. Sicknesses, curses, problems, tsunamis... never comes from God! (yes he can work it for good!). Yes, in the OT, to punish disobediant Jews, but the law is NOT for us!! Jesus fulfilled the law and we are as righteous as He is now (1Cor1:30, 2Cor5:21, Rom5:17,18). Go to youtube: Andrew Wommack; ‘Healings’, or ‘Youve Already Got It’, or’Spirit Soul and Body’, etc. It will totally change your life and get an intimate RELATIONSHIP with Jesus.

@Kristey H I totally agree with you. Actually my life was previously being isolated for years, needing home healthcare nurses, etc. The fact no one was there was devastated... I also didnt reach out much because I didn't want to "bother" anyone. The enemy plays people and what he leaves is hurting Christians. What's worse, it feels 100% PERSONAL when we are isolated when in fact it's a plan of the enemy's to dampen us spiritually as well. In Jesus name Lord, help us do better and be better for Your body and Your glory! Strengthen, equip and MOVE US INTO THE POSITIONS YOU WANT US IN! Help us to please You Abba and be there for all who need encouragement, companionship and love. I'm sorry you have also experienced this Kristey.... I can tell you this: KEEP DECLARING WHAT YOU NEED AND WANT. HE IS FAITHFUL! God set me free from something that was incurable that left me totally disabled for years. I still have some healing to go but He did it for me and He'll do it for you! Now I just need to reach out and serve. Thank you for posting and reminding all of us. God bless y'all

We pray for blessings We pray for peace Comfort for family, protection while we sleep We pray for healing, for prosperity We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering All the while, You hear each spoken need Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops What if Your healing comes through tears What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguiseWe pray for wisdom Your voice to hear We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love As if every promise from Your Word is not enough All the while, You hear each desperate plea And long that we'd have faith to believeWhen… When friends betray us When darkness seems to win We know that pain reminds this heart That this is not our homeWhat if my greatest disappointments Or the aching of this life Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy What if trials of this life The rain, the storms, the hardest nights Are your mercies in disguise

Yes, I am sure they have down days, but they do not let that rule their lives---they let the Lord rule!!!!! I have been so encouraged by them--I am disabled--is not easy--36 years and I am 59 now. God must still have a purpose for me to still be here--my doctors say there is no medical reason for me to be here.......

I agree with the theology of this song; or like Steve Green called it Refiners Fire-----it has become my souls desire; because in the "furnace" of affliction God does a purifying work; he is so close to the broken and suffering; and he gives us himself which is truly the Treasure. So grateful for this song ---she gets it. thank you!

Yes. I sang "Refiner's Fire" many years ago in the church my husband pastored as it had become truth in my life. We don't like suffering, and yet, it has been the tool the Lord has used in many many lives over the centuries to hone and purify multitude thousands of Christians into the image of our Lord. I am so sad and deeply grieved over all the health wealth and prosperity Gospel being preached by so many today -a gospel that is false from beginning to end.

Kim Johnson, There’s nothing wrong with asking for healing but often He gives us the Holy Spirit to help us in our dealing with whatever mess we’re in. I’m always grateful when the trial is over and always glad He was with me as I went thru it. There are verses that are poorly translated. An old G. Campbell Morgan sermon went thru the “be of good cheer” verses and it is better translated be of good courage. The verse that says thanks in all things is better translated thru all things. Makes more sense when you’re in deep pain that He’s saying, “don’t worry. I’m with you in the fire and I’m not going anywhere as you go thru this. His ways are not ours. Shalom Aleichem

What if the trials of your life cause you to write one of the most beautiful and profound songs ever written? What if God doesn't want to just take away your pain so you can go back to being comfortable? What if God wants you to grow to become way more than you are today? The rain is coming whether you trust God or not. Trust and lean on God through the storm and you will come out a much better person that will be a much sharper tool for God to use instead of coming out a beaten down, angry and bitter person who cannot be used by God.

I love Joni so much. I know God brought her into my life really early to be one of the people who helped me get through my own disability and the losses that came over and over. She's a real arrow pointing to God. Beautiful singing of a beautiful song too! Wow, so moving and real.

So if you are a Christian but you didn't like this song, you aren't a Christian? LOL There are so many who are pounding a keyboard, thinking "I just ministered!" or some such rot. People don't have to like a song. Maybe they were sad. We do not know! But how dare you question the faith or knowledge of scripture of complete strangers due to likes of dislikes on KZread?? Wow. That is arrogant.

Beautiful song. I wanted to tell anyone reading this something really important. One day we are all going to stand before God. We have all lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain (omg), and done many more things that are against His law ( the Ten Commandments). He will judge us, and because we have all broken His law, we ALL deserve hell. We can’t just ask for forgiveness. Imagine you just committed a crime. You’re standing in front of a judge. The judge says that you will go to jail unless the fine is paid. If you say “ I’m a good person. I did this in the past, I’m really sorry. I won’t do it again.” The judge, if he’s a good judge, won’t say “Ok I’ll let you go because you only did it once” or “you do more good than bad”. He would say “ You should be sorry! Your good works have nothing to do with this. You broke the law, now you need to pay the price.” But because God loves us, He manifested Himself as a human, Jesus Christ, about two thousand years ago, lived without sinning, and died a terrible death He didn’t deserve because of us. Three days later He rose from the dead and one day He is coming back. We all deserve the ultimate punishment (hell). But God loves us so much that He took the punishment on Himself. We broke Gods law, Jesus paid the fine. If you repent from your sins ( sincerely apologize for breaking His law and turn away from doing it anymore) and trust in Him and Him only, your punishment will be paid for, you will get eternal life in heaven, and you will no longer go to hell. I’m not telling you this to judge you. The thought of you going to hell terrifies me. I don’t want anyone to go without hearing this wonderful news. Thank you whoever took the time to read this. If you have a Bible, I suggest you read the book of John. You can also find many Bible apps on devices. I pray that you and everyone who reads this will think about this seriously. And I hope to see you in heaven. Check out livingwaters KZread channel and livingwaters.com

Here's praying God gives you the opportunity to do something about it. Not just rides to church, important as that is. The housebound/disabled often can't do recreation on their own. An afternoon doing something fun, whether it be going to the zoo or a café, or watching a favorite movie together, does more than ten sermons can do to lift the spirits. Seriously.Hope this helps.
