So many supposed fans pull the "I'm sorry none of us noticed" card. They either chose not to notice or were truly oblivious. If anyone really followed Jonghyun they would've seen from his previous album there was definitely a turning point for him, in which you could find blatant "cries for help" as you call it.

The terrible aspect of depression, is that one cannot see things clearly. One does not see the dimensions of their talent and creativity--and achievements (it is like the means to understand and to measure, are missing). Happiness seems to evasive. The worst is that one cannot see things being better or that hope is possible. Add celebrity to that mix, and one can quickly be isolated.An ordinary person can walk up to someone and just talk, celebrity gets "in the way" of the other person seeing one in a clear light. It is as if you are always expected to perform or be he person who is in the spotlight. Making friends is more difficult, but possible. I often wonder where was everyone in his support group, or why he did not turn more to those few people. Of course depression can make communication difficult, especially when you feel no one will understand. (I did not know him well enough to ask some questions--and I do miss him greatly)

I think if more kpop idols had romantic partners to care for them they would be happier and safer, Korean fans need to encourage the idols to stop all this unhealthy celibacy stuff and find loving relationships with boyfriends and girlfriends. Maybe if Jonghyun had a lover he would have been a happier person or least gotten more help. Afterall it is very selfish to want them to be available and not have romance and love in their lives set your idols free Korea.

elleran1969 they gave him hell for it....in the end...they broke up after a few months and even apologized to their fans....he was known for a while as the first kpop idol of the second generation to publicly revealed his relationship....his ex was even at his funeral
