once youre an adult what difference does it make if the comedy is "clean" or "dirty"... theyre either funny or theyre not who cares which words they use to get there
Johnathan and Robin Williams were a riot together! The production crew for MORK and Mindy said they would have a lot of fun just cracking each other up and barely able to get a scene done.
Winters was on another planet, especially his later years. Robin's main inspiration.

Thanks y’all
This is the most serious I've ever seen Mr Winters. I'm glad to see this vidro, because it ahows a different side to him I've never seen, and he was quite popular at this filming. He was throughout his career of course. He is to me a deep thinking man, who had his heart broke when he was a child several times , but didnt allow it to make him a mean bitter adult man. Mr Winters to me comes across as very kind. When he had that painting of hunters, and him ssying..."look what your doing to them(animals,") it was a revelation abiut his heart really. He was in some respects too good for this world. He is the G.O.A.T
Top shelf talent....Best era of entertainment...
Winters was an absolute original, and one of the most inventive talents ever. How I miss him!

It's very much a child's mind trying to explain things. That First Day of War, is now burned into me. I loved when he said each piece was $25,000 dollars. At the time Salvatore Dali was drawing on napkins for waitress, and someone asked him what he wanted for the 3 lines on the napkin. Dali said, $25,000, and the admirer said go screw yourself! So Dali ate the napkin so no one could have it. A art critique in NYC once said Jon's art was like Dali's to which Jonathan replied, Yeah, but I'm not a 100% less of a jerk!😂
Thank you. For this, and all the Tonight Show videos with Johnny.
Oh Gawd Yes !! I believe that you are born being funny, because the funniest guys I knew were always naturally hilarious, and thinking and doing and saying funny stuff, and they never changed their personalities !! We'd get together once a week and meet at a Coffee Shop and laugh like old times. There were four or five of us, and what a blast they were.
Robin Williams owed Winters his career. they became good friends.

And can you imagine what it was like being married to this man? Plus I’m loving this look he was pulling off with the well-put-together outfit and mustache. Never seen him look better IMO. Him and Robin Williams are two GOAT for being naturally funny with no need for a script (written by either themselves or a team of writers).
*WOW. 48 looks **_quite different_** today.* 🙏🏽 Nevertheless, I enjoyed the storytelling here (and the tickled, supportive laughter).
I can't believe I'm a decade older now than those two then. I grew up watching that generation on TV. It's also interesting to compare this interview to what you see on late night shows these days. Winters comes out and they actually have a conversation, some of it entertaining, some of it not that much. These days, the host would have one or two points that he's supposed to hit and the guest is prepared to talk about, then they'd go over the guest's newest project, and that would be it.
Richard Pryor talked of quitting drinking...he said he got tired of waking up going 90. Also...I never knew that Winters was an artist. He had a brilliant twisted mind.
He talked on the fly. His facial expressions are hilarious. He can go from a smile to a hangdog look in a split second! Very very funny man!😂

I remember seeing this when it originally aired. I was laughing so hard I woke my wife up. she started laughing right along when she realized what she was seeing which Honestly has been a really good source of happiness for me ever since I lost my wife so many years ago which infact broke me to pieces so seeing comments like this makes me smile.
My Dad was on a flight out of LAX back in the 70's, when Jonathan Winters boarded his plane. He didn't go sit in First Class, he walked back to Econo & sat across the row from my Dad. They started talking about working in Hollywood (my Dad worked at CBS when Television was first coming out but Radio was still going strong) so they were laughing about different T.V. & Film stars they both worked with....when Jonathan went into character and he entertained all the passengers for the entire flight! When he could have sat in First Class with sunglasses on to hide his face...he joined the average traveler and had the plane in hysterics! Dad talked about that experience til the day he died. It one of many memories Dad shared with that generation of celebrities that were real and very giving.
I forgot to mention that we all knew each other since 7th grade Junior High School, through High School, and our friendships lasted up through today.
The mustache years!
I just loved Jonathan since childhood… his talent was just so different remarkable comedy … interesting I never knew he’d been an artist… it makes sense cuz he’d paint pictures with his words too … that’s what stood out to me about Jonathan… I could easily picture the story in great detail.. rarely relied on timing which for most comics is essential.. anyways thanks for uploading.
