When I was a kid in the 60’s may dad had seasoned tickets for the Rams at the Coliseum and Jonathan Winters sat right behind us. My dad would always take to to the game in early November for my birthday and Jonathan Winters could not have been nicer and more generous. I remember one time he drew a turkey on my program. My dad was a huge fan of his and whenever I see a clip like this it reminds me of my dad who was a wonderful man.

He never had to worry about anyone stealing his bits -- 'cuz no one could do them! His routines were one-act plays with him playing all the parts... with sound effects. Funny, brilliant and just so creative. I used to get his albums and listen to them until the grooves wore out.
@harrymills2770

"Where are all the little green men going?" "They're looking for little green women!" That was a bit off one of his comedy albums. He left out the "green," here, but I'm pretty sure that's how it went. Must've been 1967 or '68, when I heard that line, and it's always stuck with me. He had such an expressive face, but on radio or records, he built an entire world with his sound effects. I felt like he should've done more writing in his later years, but he had such a reputation for improv that it was about all he did.

"I used to get his albums and listen to them until the grooves wore out." .... exactly! My best friend lived across the alley from us and his family had a Jonathan Winters comedy album... with a chip out of the edge. We would carefully hold the needle above that spot to start listening so as not to miss anything we had a chance of hearing. Over and over and over until I moved out of the house at 18. Endless characters and sound effects coming out of one guy... all with that quirky slant on life that Mr. Winters had. No wonder he and Johnny Carson were such good friends - both from the midwest by the way. Very similar senses of humor.

R.I.P. Mr. Winters, There Will Not Be Another Guy Like You.
Oh thats very sad. Then not only America have lost the greatest comedian, but the world. Its not possible to replace such a fine wonderful person. The good thing is that a lots of videos still exists so we can enjoy the great humour he was able to deliver. R.I.P. a very fine person Jonathan Winters.
He was able to work with what ever he was giving to him any situation or prop only a few comedians are able to do.
Of course this man was brilliant. A rare master in the world of comedy and improv.
It is no wonder why Robin Williams was so close to and so inspired by this man.
