I love the idea of the National Tour Series running about 30 dates and then let these guys run around home to build up local/regional racing. As it stands now, not gonna happen because the 2 major national series are still in an arms race with each other. But kudos to JD for thinking and saying it.

Knoxville is my local track and love attending the races there. You have to respect his opinion if a track doesn't mesh with your driving style it is what it is. Like he said calling it a dump probably wasn't the best way to say it but life goes on.

Whatever SLM series comes up with a twice a month racing schedule, could be a 10 month schedule, with all the events paying $50K+ to win and a minimum of $5k to start with a high dollar points fund will leave the rest of the series behind. Would be cool to see the top level series have 20 dedicated teams with 8 regional teams joining them wherever they race.

It is a Dump. For everything except sprint cars. The sprint car racing is often amazing unfortunately the Late models and modified racing is complete trash. There’s many reasons including size, corner shape, width, banking and general layout. Add the growing dependency and the negative effects of aero and it only gets worse. The people whom got their panties in a bunch over this statement are either sprint fans or those whom don’t comprehend the differences between the two racing mediums and what’s required for good racing. The sprint car community took offense to the statement. That’s because they gave the track too much unwarranted prestige. Some people got angry although they never even watched an event there. The fact is, the Latemodel racing is easily better at 100 other race tracks in this country. They are more entertaining on a 3/8 mile track in a farmers field then here. Even the racing at the great Eldora isn’t always great. Superman himself even commented on the bad racing following his last win. When that track lays down the racing just sucks. It does. That’s truth. But still not as bad as every latemodel event at Knox. Besides it’s America and our verbal opinions are protected by the 1st amendment.
